stares intensely at Windows 7 download
user259867
20:16
@PraxisAshelin how is it going so with the download ?
it finished, trying to install now
@PraxisAshelin did you pray ?
hmm
how to check a checkbox through keyboard only
20:18
TAB & SPACEBAR
ugh same issue
cries
me too
why don't you set the BIOS to default & try again
let me make sure you are marking the disk active while formatting/cleaning using diskpart
should I try that every single time again?
20:27
@PraxisAshelin you should EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
¬_¬
lets take this step by step
have you set your BIOS to default ?
Start DISKPART.
Type LIST DISK and identify your SSD disk number (from 0 to n disks).
Type SELECT DISK <n> where <n> is your SSD disk number.
Type CLEAN
Type CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
Type ACTIVE
Type FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK
Type ASSIGN
Type EXIT twice (one to get out of DiskPart, the other to exit the command line tool)

those are the steps I follow
no atm I'm putting Win8.1 back on the USB
20:28
then I will try to fix the MBR as per suggestion of someone else
but let me ask which disk do you select as i know you have two
after that I'll try resetting to factory settings
@The_IT_Guy_You_Don't_Like I just try both
don't mark them both as active
just mark one of them as active
well no, not both at the same time
what do you mean
20:30
make one active > try the setup on both disks > fail > make the other one active > try again both options
you run the commands above twice for both the disks c?
I haven't done that every time but I'll do it now
and what about you just mark the disk active and leave the format fs=ntfs part
let it be unallocated and let windows try format it
tried that too with no avail

On nearly all SE sites, /search is the search page. On Careers, it's this guy. Well played.

@NormalHuman lolwut
user259867
Users can pick a /path for their page on Careers. And he's clever.
what did we learn ;p
we can't have nice things
"We're looking for C++ developers that live and breath their work - it's not a just a job." ... why does that raise all sorts of alarm bells?
20:51
@The_IT_Guy_You_Don't_Like reverted to default BIOS settings, same issue
lies down and cry

> Multitasking, verb: The art of doing twice as much as you should half as well as you could.
i was going through my store recently and found this i.sstatic.net/D9Ygs.jpg
i put batteries in & voila. it still works after 14 or 15 years
user259867
21:42
@Braiam If you define it as "the art of ..." then it's definitely not a verb.
user259867
And a dictionary would not have a verb in "-ing" form anyway... so a noun it is.
@NormalHuman I read it as "the action of..." which is a verb
user259867
Both Portuguese Language and Arabic Language are in public beta now.
@DroidDev did you figure it out?

It's going to be a nontrivial amount of headache for SE team, in return for a trivial amount of traffic.
@NormalHuman that's fake... I can't see the feets

As we approach the end of the year, I thought I'd roll up some statistics that people occasionally ask about.
user259867
From back when this wasn't a 25K privilege.
23:48
@NormalHuman The new privilege will only answer one of those questions.
But you don't need that. Google provides an outsized portion of traffic for nearly every site on the network.
user259867
When this goes live, I'm probably posting a self-answered question on meta.Math... "what are our site analytics currently?"
