Community doesn't cast auto downvotes anymore unless spam/offensive flags
user259867
I looked this up, because I couldn't recall either; the change was made July 23rd, 2013 - given the time period, this was likely done as part of the change that added these flags to the LQ review queue. That automatic downvote made a good deal of sense for a long time, but we've made some pretty substantial changes in the year since then - in particular, most of these flags aren't handled by moderators anymore - so perhaps it's time to revisit this behavior. — Shog9 ♦ Jul 22 '14 at 2:12
user259867
Was it revisited?
user259867

A: Are deleted answers automatically penalized?

Shog9If you mark a Very Low Quality flag as helpful - which happens automatically when the post is deleted - the system will downvote it. This is done because folks are oddly reluctant to down vote posts even when calling them out as abysmally bad in mod flags. See: Is the Very Low Quality flag too ...

I know there's no implicit dv immediately, and I've never seen it for answers. But I'm pretty sure questions closed with pending VLQ flags get n DVs when closed where n is number of VLQs.
Oh, so it does work for answers, I just can't see that.
Anyway, close that question pls :p
user259867
02:37
It's unclear whether only one DV is given, or according to the number of VLQ flags. I guess it's the former.
user259867
With the CV queue on SO, it's pretty hard to test. I flagged this question on Stats as VLQ.
user259867
(Also downvoted). But of course, we won't know if the downvotes came from Community or other users.
mm... who wants to be our guinea pig?
02:57
the timeline might give a hint though. (this question is flagged as VLQ and closed with -1)
Someone voted to close this question as closeReason #5 which has been deactivated since Jan of 2014.. And the question was just asked recently in May 2015, so someone using very outdated close script or just testing?
@Dronehinge it's nicael!
user259867
The stats question was closed at -2: so, one DV from me, another probably from Community. Has anyone VLQ-flagged it from here?
user259867
(Darn, I should have noted the number of DVs in Community's profiles before the experiment.)
03:10
shame on you ¬_¬
user259867
Don't worry: Physics and Stats provide ample material for such tests.
user259867
It's only a matter of time.
user259867
But I don't think that dropping, say, 10 VLQ flags on a question will get it to -10 when closed.
obviously we need a controled environment
@Braiam test on patents, no one is there
03:13
@Dronehinge yeah, but who close the question?
@Dronehinge 1 cv needed
same thing with this question, vote to close as offtopid #6 (deactivated since 2013) stackoverflow.com/questions/30576893/…
Probably Will.
so we all can start closing questions as "Questions must demonstrate a minimal understanding of the problem being solved. Tell us what you've tried to do, why it didn't work, and how it should work. See also: Stack Overflow question checklist" again!! yay!
wonder if voting for deactivated reason sends it to the close queue or not

This says nothing about religion. If the machine comes up empty handed, the religious man/woman would just say that maths and science cannot explain religion, religion cannot be simulated or some other crackpot idea. Just look at the hoards of creationists. They are willing to ignore any evidence you throw at them. It is useless to argue with a delusional person.

I mean that you have shared web hosting, meaning you share the same physical machine with many other users, probably hundreds of users. all that separates you is the folder structure; one user might have '/home/user1', and another user might have '/home/user2'. If I were you I'd speak to your web-host and ask them to verify folder permissions, and if they won't do that, move to another webhost since simple security breeches like this should not be happening.
