@cybermonkey 1. That totally freaked me out in the transcript, and 2. Sorry, I accidentally all the stars.

@JasonC That's just like the issues I had with DevDoodle's chat message controls before I did a megabugfix.

It's kinda weird. It only happens in the transcript. The drop down is all kinds of messed up.
Or at least I think it's only transcript, let's see...
Yeah.

Oh, @bjb, you would have appreciated this. Delta changes their in-flight safety videos every month or so. The one on the flight today was very meme heavy. At the end, it had a shot of a dog reading the safety card and in colorful Comic Sans on the screen it said "very exits, much safety, so preparedness".

wut… lol

It also featured the dramatic prairie dog, the annoying orange, nyan cat, a bunch of gerbils, some cat on a roomba, etc.
Yeah, I was torn between facepalm and lol.

12:41 AM
Roomba fun!

Haha, totally.
Oh there was a screaming goat, too. They really packed the memes in tight.

@JasonC what the...

Wouldn't the senior citizens have an overdose of the dank memes?

I don't know, but there was this lady, looked to be in her 50's, sitting next to me with her daughter, looked to be about 10-11. And the lady said "Haha, it's the annoying orange!" and the daughter said "what's the annoying orange?" It was very... disorienting.
Well maybe mid 40's.

@JasonC That's just messed up bro.

12:47 AM
@JasonC next time you aboard a Delta plane, use the secret technique Space Out in Earnest so you don't get... disoriented

Annoying orange was my childhood, man.

Looks like Delta puts them online, lol.

Q: How can I setup the einaros/ws module for NodeJS to accept wss (secure ws) connections?

Octavian NaicuI am using the eniaros/ws module for NodeJS to communicate in real time between an iOS app and the NodeJS server using web sockets. The app runs fine, but now I have to secure the communications between the server and iOS app using wss. I have my Rapid SSL certificate and key and I am using the ...

Oh yas!
I made it work, now it only shows "invalid cert chain"…
Oh, of course! localhost ≠ devdoodle.net
I'll test it on the server then…

And it works locally when I "Always Trust" the cert.

Ok, ok, I ate some shrimp fried rice, all ready to finish the megacommit.

Couldn't you... commit different files in different commits?
Even more than that, you can commit different lines of files in different commits.

It's too complicated.
I added SSL, fixed a bunch of bugs, improved all the docs, added some security enhancements…

Can someone without confirm that /tagged/php+mysql shows questions also tagged with ? Or that it used to?

@KevinBrown any vs all
and no, it didn't used to do that...
apparently instead of "and" tag searches use "or" by default

I thought [foo] [bar] always showed [foo] AND [bar]

Are you sure it didn't previously do that?
Right now in incognito if I search two tags it strips the second one, and gives me the "OR" by default (which I can tolerate)

@hichris123 not anymore

@KevinBrown For me it shows questions tagged [php] [mysql].
@Braiam How about in search?
Is that still normal?

2:39 AM
I'm really confused as to why it doesn't happen in incognito, and I don't remember hearing about the change

user259867
@KevinBrown Depends on the parameter &mode=all, which in GUI is represented by a little toggle on the right.

@Yes I'm asking about without , totally aware of the new navigation changes

As for the incognito, this is a change due to DDOS attack:

But nobody cares about your confirmations.

user259867
Great, now we have a URL which shows one thing to a group of users, another thing to the rest of users, and a third one to anonymous visitors.

Writing up the meta post about it... the default behaviour changed there, now it's impossible to link to an AND query and have it work for those with and without the new nav

Q: Filtering questions by multiple tags doesn't work with the new navigation

Kevin BrownThis is not about selecting the "all" option in the new navigation when filtering for multiple tags, it's about the old tag links for filtering questions by multiple tags. @JasonC Proper information. Shooting a flamethrower at it is not.

I'm sure you'll find something on the first page of search results just fine. Besides, it should've been an SU question. Add hurting the other sites to the list of reasons why Lifehacks is awesome.
If there ever were a case for cross-site duplicates, that'd be it.

Every LH question should have a root-cause counterpart, e.g. How do I get ants in my keyboard.
2

Haha, yes.

@rene also, how to obtain ants with only my bare hands and a container

@JanDvorak possible answer: Try if this works for ants as well...

@JasonC Yes.
But my laptop is not infested by ants.
> This solution is for serious laptop ants. If you've only got one or two, just brush them off.
I ended up following ton.yeung's advice in a chat room and got rid of them just fine, now I have no idea which answer to accept since I didn't try any.

@Unihedron Your question does not state the level of ant presence in your laptop. Should it be closed as unclear?

Perhaps I should accept the one about using toxic gas.

@Unihedron cw self answer quoting the chat advice

If you solved it in chat then self answer.
^ Yeah.

8:01 AM
or ask the chatter to answer

@JanDvorak It's not really a hack, just bought a box of ant thingy and left it on the table.

good enough

But it's the solution that worked. If the solution that worked didn't require a hack then your question shouldn't be on LH. Don't accept an arbitrary unhelpful answer that you didn't even try because you want the accepted answer to be "hacky". That just hurts the internet.
So just self answer it, hack or not.

poor guys

8:04 AM
@JasonC "Don't accept an arbitrary unhelpful answer that you didn't even try" - I agree with this. That's kinda why I haven't accepted any yet. If I don't know what the right answer is to accept, at least I don't want to accept a wrong one.
@JanDvorak Yep, worked like a charm.

Self-answer it with the solution that actually worked. Do you want to help people with the same problem or not?

So just make it "press any key to leave all rooms, or Ctrl + W".

CTRL+W also leaves all rooms, just not visibly

dx/dt = x t², x = exp(t³/3)
… or something
dx/dt = -x t², -ln(x) = t³/3, x = 1/exp(t³/3)
Right, since dist is decreasing.

Q: Some questions tend to turn into polls, is this bad and how can they be answered better?

Jason CI see a lot of questions here that essentially turn into polls. Often the nature of the question leads to poll-style answers but to me the "issue" seems to be in the answers themselves. An example of the general form of such a question and its answers might be: Q: How do I X without using Y?...

Seriously, are you going to do anything about Lifehacks other than complain? No? Then stop complaining. Either do something about it, or do nothing.

Good, you went to meta @JasonC. claps

I'm trying to be fair.
@hichris123 Hey it's not a whiny post at all. Read before snarking. :P I'm actually quite proud of it.

4:49 PM
@JasonC That wasn't snark, that was an actual compliment. You did more than the "Lifehacks is horrible!111" that's been ailing this room for the past day.

Oh. Text -> tone fail. I read it with an implied "here's a cookie" at the end.
But I still want a cookie.

Yeah, perhaps that was phrased in a weird tone. :P
gives @JasonC a cookie

Yay!!!
@Unihedron Self answer your question, for the betterment of mankind, yet?

@JasonC I was going to.
But then I tried to clean my house and finish the kata afterwards but realized I haven't gotten food and in realization I called up my cousin to see if she had time to hang out with me before the exams and have tea or something but they weren't picking up, so I waited for half an hour and then started playing chess during I wait. Fast forward and I've been watching people playing bullet chess for an hour and a bit more.
I'll go self answer it.

@Unihedron Excuses, excuses.

4:53 PM
