@PeterJ it's how patent.SE works

@Unihedron is this a patent to have anyone create any tag?

Joel Spolsky on September 20, 2012

We’ve all heard the stories of seemingly trivial patents being used to mug technology companies. There was the patent on the “Interactive Web” which a troll named Eolas used to extract $521 million from Microsoft–until a jury in East Texas threw out the patents. There are the four patents Lodsys is using to send threatening letters to software developers everywhere–trivial patents that Google says never should have been granted, in fact, Google and Oracle have submitted mountains of prior art to show that the patents should be invalid. …

Ask Patents lets you tag with the patent IDs. In fact, you're suggested to tag with whatever format you like, which is why there seems to be a tag pollution.

nope, but he did overly disclose it in the chats

@Andy even those that come with a disclosure are problematic in light of the fact that the user keeps plugging the tool over and over again. SO requires the disclosure but the disclosure is not enough to prevent being a spammer.

@Vogel612'sShadow It's a room for ru.SO. Moderatorship is lax over there (only two mods, plus a CM), and many users are new to SE network. So things happen. It's unfortunate the flags propagate.

@JasonC At some point, the idea was that questions had to be sufficiently researched prior to posting so that conventional solutions were examined and found lacking.

Q: What to do about a 11000 lines C++ source file?

Martin BaSo we have this huge (is 11000 lines huge?) mainmodule.cpp source file in our project and every time I have to touch it I cringe. As this file is so central and large, it keeps accumulating more and more code and I can't think of a good way to make it actually start to shrink. The file is used ...

I feel that this should really be migrated to programmers. Wish mods could migrate after 60 days..

@IanKemp In addition, he added backticks to product names (not code or console commands). Look towards the bottom

@ASCIIThenANSI yes, that's what's bothering me, i couldn't put my finger on it until you mentioned it

Yes, tool names in backticks are no good. Edit back to older version without backticks perhaps ?

@JonasCz Sure. I don't see any problem.
You could also do a rollback, but then you might have to deal with the tag.

6:11 PM
If I rollback or edit, I send it into the edits queue, and probably even get 2 rep for a minor and useless edit..

@JonasCz fair point

@JonasCz Maybe we could see if there's something else to reword or improve, so it's not a useless edit?

I don't see any other possible improvements though. IMO, this should really be migrated or possibly be closed.

back to my "I wanna better understand flag reasons so I flag correctly" meta.stackexchange.com/a/256463/167434 I find this to be in very poor taste, but is it flag worthy?
@Louis I wanted a better pic of your specs and so I went to your profile. y u no chat in js room?

@rlemon Because I'm working. The volume of noise in the tavern is within reasonable limits. The volume of noise in the js room would be (I think) well above what is okay. (Note that I'm not that often in the tavern either.) When I'm not working I'm usually busy with other responsibilities.

@rlemon I'm sure the opportunity will come. These days I'm extra busy because we're trying to find a new house and sell the one we currently own, so a lot of my "free" time is busy with a) getting this house ready and b) checking out other houses.
