SE seems to be unborked.
"GMT" WHAT IS THIS THING
WHAT'S WRONG WITH UTC?

It's the same thing.
GMT = Greenwich Mean Time

Yeah, but it's weird if they use GMT and UTC in the same sentence.

UTC = United Time Coordinated??

I get it.

That... doesn't quite work, but...
@bjb568 Where?

Coordinated Universal Time -- how does that turn into UTC?

French or something.

@bjb568 Huh yeah that is weird.

Huh.

Any reason why querystring breaks onebox?

We are about to re-join our DR data center into the secondary SQL cluster. We *hope* this has no impact.
Brace for impact.

@bjb568 Which is the WTF timezone again?

We are about to re-join our DR data center into the secondary SQL cluster. We *hope* this has no impact.

@hichris123 Because they needed to choose something that didn't offend either the English by being French nor the French by being English, so they chose something that was wrong for both. I'm not kidding: this is the true reason.

@tchrist All of them.

@tchrist 'cause obviously the French and the English are the only two people groups out there. That's... quite strange.

@bjb568 Sorta.
@tchrist Jon already said that.

@hichris123 Be that as it may, it’s true. I could look it up.

@bjb568 Yeah, but it claimed it was a "compromise" -- not really. It's more of a mutual "Let's choose something else".

@hichris123 invents new language just to offend others that we have UTC make sense
@hichris123 whatev

Suppose you work for a very major U.S. firm that produces all manner of devices horological — clocks and watches and such — and it is moving into new and more spacious digs with nine conference rooms. You decide to name your conference rooms for the nine American timezones. Question: should you shift them for DST? :)
@bjb568 Zulu is more pronouncifical.

euatisi
Hm… should i have the shadow vowel in or out there?

@bjb568 You’re a programmer: you’re expected to know this shtuff.

Oh wait, there are two Samoas!

oh noesa

12:21 AM
There’s Samoa Samoa and there’s American Samoa!
How could I have been so silly? Time for some R&R in the V.I. — either of them.
@bjb568 That’s awfully good. I have so been there. Again and again and again. I love how he says he doesn’t do Ozzie accents. :)
We’ll see whether he gets to February 30th in Sweden.

I’m getting echoes and echoes.
Looks like now chat is about to die.

:o

Bad timeouts.
Green forever.
Still green.
Bad timeouts.
I love how there are so many versions of Universal Time to choose from.

12:39 AM
Test?
All works for me.

Universal Time comprises all of UT0, UT1, UT1R, UT2, and UTC. GMT=UT1 && UTC ≠ UT1 ∴ GMT≠UTC. UT1−UTC=DUT1. HTH&HAND.

this is why we need better quality filters / more CVs
the site is not self-explaining its policies good enough & the tour isn't forced

Or less CVs. If only 2 CVs are required to close in the first 2h of question asking, it'll be a lot easier to keep up with the constant flood of crap.

But then you get a squad causing dismay.
