@JasonC The point I'm trying to make is that finding examples of this is hard when the system as it's currently implemented doesn't let these things rise to the surface of the barrel of sludge, when I think it really could.

@Braiam Kinda

OH JOY!

@Shog9's day has been made.

I just found two pieces of pizza in the fridge. Now I just hope that white stuff on top is cheese

6:02 AM
@AlexisKing If the point you're trying to make is that finding these examples are hard, then that's what you should discuss in your meta post, but I'm confused, because the issue you claim to be talking about is "the issue of what the hell to do with old, highly-upvoted questions with very useful answers".
So, like I said, reel this back in.

@JasonC You're right. That meta question was muddled. I should've sorted out the issues I was trying to discuss better.

@Shog9 I'm told that if you blow it you can know for sure

@Shog9 It doesn't matter what it is. Sprinkle some bacon bits on it and it'll be delicious.

It was too hastily written without enough review.

Protip: want a scintillating meta discussion, but don't have enough data to prove the existence of a problem? Lay out your theory, complete with criticisms, and ask for help proving or disproving it.

@AstroCB, can I borrow you in the Triage school chatroom?

I think Shog has a little brother that he's never told us about, who, every once in a while, sneaks up to his computer and types smart things.

@Shog9 Part of the idea of that question was really just to try and do some research of exactly that type, not find a definitive answer to anything. It was an open-ended discussion. That said, I don't think it served that purpose very well at all, even if Meta did serve as a better platform for that.

I have many little brothers I've never told you about.

... Is that a threat?

It's weirdly ominous.

@Shog9 I was wondering if you were going to go british or american. Thanks for taking the middle ground.

@animuson was probably my favorite mod on SO since he sometimes did what people in the tavern asked him to

@Roombatron5000 As opposed to all the reasonable mods, who intelligently use the Tavern as reconnaissance for the opposite of what to do.
Hey, @Shog9, ... can you get this done while you're in here?

@Shog9 why Lifehacks?

@Braiam it only had my 1 spam flag when I posted

6:14 AM
@Shog9 cool! Exactly what we wan.... err... ewww

@James so they can annoy the folks over on The Bridge

@James Because Lifehacks basically has the reputation as the toilet of Stack Exchange at this point.

I like to think of it as the New Jersey of Stack Exchange.

Don't tell anyone, but LifeHacks exists purely to give Wipqozn something to talk about.

@James Hm, I'm from the USA, but from your analogy, I'm going to guess that North Queensland is like the New Jersey of USA.
So it works out.

@James you mean the magical place, which is Tahiti
@tchrist no jobs

@James One of them is in beautiful Colorado; the rest are stuck in traffic.

@Shog9 Don't even talk to me about traffic. mumbles something about about Los Angeles and the 405 freeway

I was just in Denver for the first time, I really liked it. But I didn't get to see much of the city.
It reminds me of Pittsburgh, though, a lot (my home town).

6:21 AM
@AlexisKing I need to drive less. I put 1800 miles on in the last 8 months alone.

Next time, rent a car and drive up to Longmont. Get some good beer...

@tchrist ? you must live close to work or do you mean 18,000

@Shog9 Word. I'm trying to convince my client that he'll need me to go back up there to "make sure there aren't any problems" next month when our project opens.

@JasonC The beauty of Colorado rests not in its cities but in its untrammelled wilderness.
@Roombatron5000 One thousand eight hundred.

yeah, ok, after you get the beer head up into the hills

If this is retirement, I should get more sleep.

@tchrist What?! Tony Abbot is a shaved gorilla in a suit. He's essentially the George Bush of Australian Politics. No one is quite sure how he got to be running the country, because everyone swears that they didn't vote for him.
