@SmokeDetector fpu

@JasonC Registered question as false positive, whitelisted user and added title to Bayesian doctype 'good'.

@ɥʇǝS :D I spent a very long time deciding on that move

@Doorknob really? lol.

anyone can see their own reviews in their profiles of SO?

@Doorknob are you playing chess still?

2:02 AM

@Braiam I can see all my things.
Also, I see your reviews on your profile page.

@JasonC newest being?

@Doorknob I don't mean to get all philosophical here but that's why chasing someone all around the board means you're doing it wrong.

If you "mail support" does it do the network things, or just go locally?

2:03 AM
8 hours Reject and Edit “decoder.decodeBuffer” doesn't produce the expected output when decoding base64 read from a file

I've learned that from hard hard experience :P

@JasonC yep... then how you explain this stackoverflow.com/review/low-quality-posts/7401294
> Braiam reviewed this 2 mins ago: Recommend Deletion

@ɥʇǝS you still busy?

hopes isn't a severe case of caching

@Braiam CACHING

2:04 AM
@Frank I was just walking to the kitchen to get dinner :/
(literally just walking away..)

@ɥʇǝS yum!
pizza?

I wish :(

something gross?

@ɥʇǝS when he goes to the kitchen to get his, call him back

@Braiam Do trees have kitchens?

2:05 AM
oh revenge, sweet revenge

I ate dinner hours ago
past 10 pm here

@ɥʇǝS maybe

@Braiam I don't know. I'm confused. Something's strange in mine, too, the sort order is all wrong.

@Frank naw, pancakes. Not your average dinner but I haven't gone grocery shopping in a while :P

@ɥʇǝS *Do

2:06 AM
I hope you're not offended that there's maple syrup ;P

YAY! SO is borked!

@ɥʇǝS I love pancakes.

Oh no just kidding.

@Frank Ooops.

@ɥʇǝS nah, me no maple tree

2:06 AM
Looks like.. Apple this time?

Turns out I suggested an edit a few days ago, but my last suggestion was 360 days prior, and the year isn't displayed. Lol.

lol, didn't check

anyway, dinner time!

calls Seth back >:)

my record is 37 regular pancakes at one sitting (irl)
beat that!

2:07 AM
How big is a regular pancake?

Was it named "all actions" since the beginning? I thought it's "activities"?

Were they heavy, or light and fluffy? Thin or thick? Buttermilk? too-broad

@Frank "regular pancake" = volume?

Pancakes are usually 5-8 inches round, and can weigh anywhere from 10-16 ounces
@JasonC buttermilk, all whole wheat. Made from scratch. Some had chocolate chips

Chocolate chips, impressive. How long is a sitting?

2:10 AM
regular mealtime (~45 mins max)
and I still have a ~32" waist xD

@Frank whoa! I could never do that.

even though I eat like a bear

I did eat 10-12 tacos once though.. Decent sized ones too.

and I only weigh 220 lbs now

(forgot something in the computer room.. if you're wondering)

2:11 AM
@Frank Were you constipated?

@JasonC nah, they were whole wheat
(good balance of fiber)

I'm going to beat that record.
Although I weigh a good 80lbs less than you. Maybe I'll shoot for 7/11ths of that record.

My record with french toast is 43 slices (whole wheat bread, and ~3/4 gallon of milk and ~8 eggs, and ~1/4 gallon of maple syrup and ~1/4 cup of cinnamon)
@JasonC ping if you make it alive
@JasonC iirc you were really tall and skinny, right?

I don't think I could even come close to 43 piece of french toast.

@Braiam how....how did it get 12 upvotes

Not super tall, like 5'11.
Which used to seem tall.
But now everybody is taller than me, which I can't explain.

That is almost as tall as me

@James reasons

I think every generation averages around 1 1/2" taller than the last xD
But I'm the tallest in my family.

2:17 AM
Lol. It's super weird.

extended family also

I live across the street from a high school and these kids are enormous.

is hungry THANKS!

I come from short heritage
@Braiam wat... enormous kids make you hungry? what are you, a dinosaur?

> Thank you for reviewing 20 low quality posts today; come back in 21 hours to continue reviewing.

2:18 AM
@JasonC lolyeah

@Frank yeah, kids seems delicious.... NO! the talk about food ¬_¬

@Braiam ik
was jokin around
I gotta go hit the sack.
ttyl y'all

@Frank the wot

@bjb568 the sack

sounds… weird

2:26 AM
@bjb568 'hit the sack' 'hit the hay' 'go to bed' 'drop' 'go night night' 'give them little grey cells a break' etc etc etc

oh

lol
that you didn't know

Why do I have some kind of suspicious feeling on these 2 users on Android Enthusiasts... John Sonderson and John Higginstyne
Both are John, both have Galaxy SIII, both asking style is to provide quite detailed explanation (not that's a problem)

@bjb568 Hey looks like your server is working now?
If you just got a mail from nobody@nowhere.com it worked.

wot really?
hmm… no bounce, but no email
I changed mydestination = $myhostname localhost.$mydomain localhost $mydomain

2:37 AM
I just sent one from a real email address to bjb568@ also, didn't seem to bounce.

yeah, no bounce, but got lost...

Tried postmaster and root from a fake email as well.

user259867
2:55 AM
@Doorknob gone

Mail is hopeless.

user259867
Use USPS instead.

:P

@AndrewT. Here are Johns with S3s. You'll have to wait until Monday for Mr. Higginstyne to show up.
@Woodface Equally hopeless.
Incidentally I got in a near shouting match with the manager of the local branch yesterday, because it took them a week to deliver a package to my client's office in the same building as the post office. They kept putting it on the truck then trying to deliver after business hours.

@JasonC thanks ;)

3:01 AM
Lol, always glad to help.

@JasonC that's aweso... err... terribad :/

Although, I do admit to having a little fun pretending it was a business-critical package when all it really was was a couple of blank server rack panels.

you should speak with Tim Post to share "experiences"

But literally every time somebody sends me something anywhere with USPS I always end up waiting in line at a branch somewhere a week after the scheduled delivery date.

drat
@Doorknob is gonna win

3:07 AM
(Although I suppose I could argue that keeping people from using the file server as a shelf for plastic forks and ketchup packets is "business critical".)

hahahaha! >:D
I fully expected to completely fail

Morning!

user259867
Spam time!

3:14 AM
Now that @Undo sees it I'm sure this game isn't over yet.
:D

@Woodface ^ But then this happens.

Wat

omg cruel :(

Wot

poor @ProgramFOX

3:16 AM
RIP

RIP in peace

user259867
Is it a fox? I thought a squirrel.

Rest in peace in peace?

@Woodface It doesn't look like a. squirrel.

It's a squirrel.

3:17 AM
SQUIRREL!

> Greeting everyone, for the record, this is just a question,not ads…

@Undo Are you going to move? I'm fairly certain that you can't win :)

3:19 AM

user259867
^ spam

@Woodface maybe...
it isn't a maklov chain...

@Braiam They have network accounts, already posted it at webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/75159/…

It's gone now.

user259867
Most of the spam is some Markov chain nonsense posted by bots... but not all of it.

3:20 AM
I don't think this would be appropriate on any site in Stack Exchange. If you want to find out for sure, see the 'site-recommendation' tag at Meta Stack Exchange. — Al E. 43 mins ago
^ blame....

^ Also blame WebApps for pointing them to Meta.SE

@Doorknob don't count your chickens before they hatch :-D

actually, he most likely misunderstood something...

This is the most interesting game I've seen in a while..

user259867
I still don't see new Server Fault design...

3:22 AM
@ɥʇǝS I (think I have) went through all the possible moves Undo could make, and none of them would save him from checkmate (I think). :P

@Doorknob stop thinking...

I think it is

@Woodface Whatever, it's still spam. It's conscious spamming to get beta testers. It's neither useful nor relevant, and it is effectively advertisement with no disclosure.

@Doorknob Oh?
I can think of a way or two to lengthen the game ;)

do tell
I mean, I can postpone it, but...
Right now there's a one-step mate on the board.

3:26 AM
Qg5

@ɥʇǝS Rxg5
? I don't see how that would change anything.

yeah

re-evaluating.
I might have missed something.
hmm
yeah, I guess so. Undo has his king pretty badly stuck.
Can't move at all.

idea
I'm gonna play this out

I'm lucky I have pawns on h5 and f4. Otherwise moving the rook down could pose a problem with Undo's opposite pawns

3:29 AM
I was sure I saw a way around that though.

argh I just saw that one

oh duh

Okay, I give up. How the heck does Community♦ close something as a duplicate?

@tchrist That's a new feature, the OP VTC'd it and so Community finished it.

@tchrist There's a feature in which when there are pending dup votes, the OP can click a "that solved my problem" button

3:34 AM
Whoa, cool!

41
A: Can we clarify to the OP that their question is not yet closed and the duplicates are only suggestions?

Shog9Update: implemented! Actual UI appears like this: If the author clicks the big blue button, the question is instantly closed (With the Community user listed as a close voter): If, instead, they edit, then the choice will go away... At least until another duplicate close-vote is cast. I...

I had read it by had forgotten that part, since um well I don’t myself ask many dupes. :)

Mind if I keep spitting things out or should I let you guys battle it out without commentary? @Doorknob/Undo

@ɥʇǝS go for it :D

user259867
Presumably they know where the ignore button is.

3:36 AM
Hmm... Rg2 might work, although it seems counterproductive.

@Undo There's post where that's the main topic, too
278
Q: New UI encourages askers to confirm or dispute duplicate votes

Shog9As of the 9th of March, the banner shown to askers whose questions have attracted at least one duplicate close vote has a couple of new options: If the author clicks the first button, they're shown a confirmation that clarifies the results of this action somewhat: If they click "Ok", the qu...

@Doorknob main problem is you aren't forcing it

But then Undo can just snag another queen with the pawn at the end.

3:37 AM
I might have time to promote that pawn, too

@Undo smack!

Bd5 is on my mind.

I'm gonna have to leave now, will pick this up again in the morning

alright

night, have fun creaming me
:D
we need to do these chess things more often

3:38 AM
Yeah, this is really fun

that pins the pawn on f3 and allows for Ng4 followed by Qxa2! if Undo can't think of a good defense.

@Roombatron5000 It's spam. That dude is the founder of the site in the link he posted.

But he'd probably respond with Qe7+

what about Qe4?
that would pin the rook that I'm trying to use for checkmate

user259867
All his questions are spam seed, answered by the same sock with spam links.

3:42 AM
@JasonC ok. I just looked at the askers length on SO, so didn't look further. Is the accepted answer suspicious too or no? Both their last names are Patel.

wait, Bxe4. I'm an idiot
5

again?

No worries, I do the exact same thing all the time..

@Shog9 I used my spam flag on stackoverflow.com/questions/29115289/… already and can't flag for mod attention. The dude who posted that is also a founder of the company he posted a link to, and I suspect is related to the answerer and pagetube.org as well (there's a pagetube.org "stream" on the giikers site), if you want to take some action.

@ɥʇǝS What about Nf7 in response to that?

3:43 AM
Man, I had really forgotten how fun this all was! Thanks guys for bringing that back :D:D

user259867
OK, not all. One seems not-spam. But both Patels are likely to be the same person.

Seems reasonable at first glance @Doorknob
the problem is he'll most likely respond with c8!

@JasonC 4 out of his 5 questions have accepted answer by the other Patel! cc: @shog

@ɥʇǝS Rxg1#, then

or however you detonate promotion in the script.
@Doorknob Oh duh.

user259867
3:45 AM
@Roombatron5000 Custom mod flag time?

I was literally just thinking that it's instant checkmate if he doesn't keep you moving lol.
Rxg6?

@Roombatron5000 Yeah; there's a "pagetube.org" "stream" on that giikers site, and pagetube.org is registered to a "muktesh kumar", same first name.

@JasonC That’s a good hunch: look at how they follow each other in pairs, and use links.

@Woodface done

In fact, you’d think a halfway clever SEDE query could uncover more of that ilk. Damned voting rings anyway!

3:48 AM
to which the obvious response would be Rxg6.. but I think I'm getting ahead of the whole thing.
well I need to get to bed @Doorknob.

@ɥʇǝS Yeah, I probably should too. Flying home tomorrow. This has been fun :D

Bd5 does seem to be your best move though, IMO. I can think of 1 good defense for white but it's really sketchy. Interested to see what you end up doing :D
@Doorknob :D:D
I'd like to visit Utah sometime.
I actually live really close to a ski range so skiiing isn't a good excuse to go though :P

Hmm... How about 53... Rxg1+ 54. Qxg1 Rxg1+ 55. Kxg1 Be6? Not a checkmate and I lose a bunch of pieces, but then I've got the pawn at the end covered and Undo loses his queen. Then the only problem is his remaining knight, and other than that I've basically won.
Ok, actually have to go to sleep :P See you later!

@JasonC ^ @animuson I know you like killing spam/voting rings too.

@JasonC I think I’ve flagged all that make sense to do. What assholes!
And this is probably some of those people who think what they are doing is just fine, too.

4:04 AM
@tchrist Yeah. These kinds of things really irritate me.
> @jason Then whats wrong with it if am trying to find out some other site who provide quality backlinks. – muktesh patel

That’s why I’m thinking that that pattern might be something to do some data diving against.

Oh, this wasn't at all the first time that guy had been caught doing this.
Or had shit deleted.
Or been suspended.
If we're lucky, this'll be the last.

This won’t onebox, but I see Bill got it ages ago: stackoverflow.com/a/14417917/471272
Thing is, it is trivial to test for those links, should they ever reappear. Just add them to some little list somewhere.
Now, why the hell Google is caching something deleted that long ago, I have no idea.

@Shog9 Nah, we won't be lucky.

For that matter, Google is also caching this one, which I presume is due to a deleted comment. Wow Google, just let it go.
@JasonC It probably pays for itself. That’s why they keep doing this shit.
Plus notice he’s obfuscating the link so it is not so easily searched for. In theory.

4:26 AM
Usually when I see a question like that with a link in it I search around to see if there's a connection between the username and the site. This guy's mistake was using a name that was strongly connected. You uncover a few that way.

@JasonC We’ll always know that that domain is a spam domain.
Somebody go teach Smokey.

What's the domain?

That way Shog will be able to read it easier. :)

@Unihedro giikers.com, pagetube.org, myenv.org

Inter alia.
