@AvinashRaj The issue is not so much your answer on the other question. The issue is that you closed as duplicate a question/answer combo that is better than the other one (more votes, more views, and one could argue an answer that is more expressive). People see this and then wonder, why close this one as duplicate when it is better, and then some probably figure you were trying to funnel votes to your answer but that's not the primary issue.

@rene I'd be curious how a subset of your question would do: What is the protocol for duplicate questions in which none of the original dupes have no (or not a sufficiently) valid answer? Do all additional ones get closed?

The way meta.SO works, writing a post about one particular SO post is sure to provide overexposure. I think an undelete request placed in a chatroom would suffice.
