Okay, got confused about that hat's requirements...

It's fun to see users come, ask, answer and leave

Once in a while I try to be nice and this is the result....

Admit it, all of us are evil. You can't be nice.

huch ...

@InfiniteHappiness we all are sockpuppets of @bart

8:06 PM
I beg to differ

Bart is the most evil

@bummi granted...

don't blaspheme about absent
;)

I admit he has some catching up to do when he returns ... that might involve the use of his smiting stick

yes, he needs to use the stick on botling

8:12 PM
I think we should add the botling to wheel of blame. It has earned that much now

:P

You can now use democracy bot for democracying!

8:16 PM
When did it graduate to a bot? It's a botling.

@InfiniteHappiness lol, I don't even understand what that is written :P

@InfiniteHappiness When it became useful.
@DroidDev It's a democracy bot, it lets you vote on things.

@UndotheSnowman You doubt me?

I have seen bjb write weird meta posts, don't be surprised if he does go to SF meta. He once posted on MSO, asking for a diamond when I was granted access to a mod room and he wasn't :D

@bjb568 hmm....great! even greater should be not accepting new one

@bjb568 but, that's how voting should work

Impossible!

Yes, absolutely impossible!

@hichris123 nevermind.

9:43 PM
Whoa! I found this person on Stack Overflow who has less than 1k rep and a gold badge that isn't "Famous Question"!

Who?
Frank?
101 rep.

@hichris123 That's a... strange question. It's like "If I take all the cookies from the jar, I get a lot of cookies! Yay! But if I only take the top cookie, I only get one cookie. Why is that?? :("

There's probably a bunch.

Yeah, but that's the first time I clicked on a random <1k's profile and found a non-"Famous Question" gold badge.

9:52 PM
Ah, fanatic. Lots of low-rep users have that, especially on smaller sites. The only difficult part about doing it on SO is to hang around for three months without going over 1k.

@IlmariKaronen I know, right?

^^^ Gold badges counts for people less than 1k rep
~93.5% of all gold badges are Famous Question

@hichris123 What's sort of annoing is that the dupe is clearly better asked, but this one has better answers. :/
I guess I could just answer the other one myself, but I'd really rather not bother. :(

10:11 PM
Unsung hero is so easy.

Here's the one guy with the sub-1k Copy Editor:
He also has Electorate and Fanatic. :o
And in case you're wondering, here's the edit that got him the badge.

Must love editing.

Q: Full text search results in a large amount of time spent in 'FULLTEXT initialization'

hichris123I'm currently trying to run some queries against a data dump of Stack Overflow's comments. Here's what the schema looks like: CREATE TABLE `socomments` ( `Id` int(11) NOT NULL, `PostId` int(11) NOT NULL, `Score` int(11) DEFAULT NULL, `Text` varchar(600) NOT NULL, `CreationDate` timesta...

sigh SQL

Use mongodb.

@bjb568 You honestly think it would handle 20 million rows easily?

Yeah.

@bjb568 Oh, right, it's NoSQL.
Remember? NoSQL != SQL

10:43 PM
So it must be kewl.

It's for non-relational data.

Eh, you can probably restructure everything.

@bjb568 Perhaps, but it isn't meant for relational data.
So there's no point in using it.

Yes, but you can make your data not relational.

... what?

10:45 PM
Eh… complicated.

@bjb568 I think you fundamentally misunderstand relational vs. non-relational data.

Instead of having tables which you join, you have objects in collections which you nest.
instead of select sum(votes) where votes.on in user's program ids, you have something like sum(user's program's votes)

The problem with Yahoo answers is that if you actually put detail into a question, it's too long, and no one reads it. But if you don't, everyone answers it, and no one knows what your situation is.

And also that it's crap?

sorry that was random
@bjb568 That too.

user259867
@hichris123 You asked that for Kofia hat, didn't you?

@Behaviour I actually didn't, but it's a nice side effect. :P
When a simple query takes 2 minutes 30 seconds or 3 minutes 30 seconds, you quickly go insane.

@Doorknob don't you mean 冷?

@bjb568 No, read my profile "about me." :P

@Doorknob冰 That's not even a word...

Doorknob ice doesn't make much sense.

It has no vowels

Isn't it bing?

@hichris123 Oh by the way, you missed one (in TL I think) a while ago.
^ I am really getting tired of that pirate hat covering the chat input text area, so I decided to do something about it. :P

@bjb568 Chinese simplified or traditional? One of the two.
@Doorknob冰 I know, I got tired of doing that. :P

@hichris123 I'm assuming S == simplified
heh

Oh, that's the language.
This is confusing me.
Wo hun bing!
Or something like that.
