@JanDvorak It's not a network-wide whitelist, that's why it still reports that user.

hi fox

Hi!
So I'm away for one weekend and my inbox overflows...
:P

& i believe most of them are from tavern

Some of them are, others are from comments and edits.

@ProgramFOX so, just be persistent and whitelist the guy wherever he goes? Thanks for the explanation. May I suggest a change? A spammer on one site is a spammer everywhere.

4:31 PM
@JanDvorak That's certainly true, but it isn't that easy to implement that. If we would, we would need to check everytime when there is an updated question on the realtime tab whether the poster is blacklisted on another site.

@Pro Are you identifying users by name or ID?

@Sam By ID.
Names can be duplicates on a network and on the site.

there can be many shog9

Sam
Which is why I asked ;)

4:36 PM
yeah. good :)
otherwise you would have blacklisted Shog9 ? :p

Aha, I found the cause for Smokey not replying to my "tpu".
The message has a dash in the reasons and the regex doesn't catch that.

Kick-ban.

@TGMCians kick-ban
But only for a short period.
After many bans, a moderator gets informed.

they can if room is gallery
isn't it ?

@TGMCians Yes, then they can remove the user from the access list.

shouldn't the SHOUTING thingy be activated in SO too @Shog9?

maybe
I have bigger plans for SO though

Oh, that's interesting!

realistically, the system should just be blocking titles like that. There are very, very few legitimate ones... Especially if you ignore SQL. Which I'm increasingly tempted to do.
So what do we gain from warning folks? Well, we get a chance to sort folks into two groups:
1) those who heed warnings
2) those who ignore warnings
That's useful in and of itself
But it becomes more useful if you can make the warning less... mechanical.
For instance, instead of "make your title not all upper-case!" you can do "Your title is kinda ugly - attractive titles increase the chance of your question getting answered"
Then maybe link to something that describes how to write a not-offensive-to-the-eyeballs title
Not a lot of folks will read it
but that's ok
We care about the ones who will

well, we are interested that the folks that can pay attention and are really willing to write a bearable question get to write better questions, everyone else, can just hit a big wall ;)

Incidentally, SO has other warnings: stackoverflow.com/questions/…

I'm going to give up too. He is never going to change his opinion.

Yep, especially due to the root cause of his "proposal".

@Ahmad I'm going to stop arguing with you. It is pointless because you are not going to change your opinion, and I'm also not going to.
I'm now going to do actually useful stuff. I haven't yet done all my 40 Close Votes reviews.

Markdown parser.

@bjb568 wat?

@JanDvorak It's a markdown parser that parses markdown.

don't all markdown parsers parse markdown?

All markdown parsers that parse markdown parse markdown.

Would you mind leaving, please?

8:08 PM
Note that this one parses a variant of markdown. It's not standard mark, but it's kinda the same idea.
@JanDvorak No… Wait… what's the question? Maybe yes then.

user259867
@bjb568 I did not expect to see Math.random in a Markdown parser.

@justabrickinthewall Well… I needed to make a random string to substitute. What's it have to do with SQL? :P

@bjb568 SQL was in reference to SD post. unmatched_underscore results in italic; should it?

@justabrickinthewall Yes. This is a strict parse which requires escapement.

user259867
@bjb568 Backslash, I presume? Entering \* \* \* gives * \ \ .

Ugh.

Q: Burninate Project Euler

bjb568 Please be aware that the purpose of Project Euler is to encourage people to think and learn so publishing the solution or working code would render this process useless. Yeah… no. We should burninate this meta tag. And a lot of the questions can be closed/deleted.

@justabrickinthewall Fixed jsfiddle.net/pcLz58Ld/1
^ Herm?

10:38 PM
@bjb568 tags are added in the order how much questions they have. I guess the number of questions on for-loop is now greater than on break then it was when the post was first submitted.

Huh.

@bjb568 the some other tag was synonymized to [break] and that post used it
