Actually this is still an issue. Text like: *This is a test* Shows up in XMPP as: <i>This is a test</i> When it should be italic. I'll bet that the text I send to the xmpp4r library gets HTML encoded... so I need to find a way to send raw XML to the XMPP client, then I can *remove* the HTML entities decoder I just added.
The homepage for all Stack Exchange sites is intentionally simple: it's a list of the last (n) questions by activity date.
Activity date means new questions, or questions with new answers or new edits.

A question's freshness gets a 20% freshness penalty per ignored tag.
A question's freshness gets a 25% freshness boost per interesting tag.
