@MikeM. works for me, what exactly is the problem?

@MikeM. Not that I'm aware of, seems to be fine

Well, the "stuck" numbers on my notification tabs are unstuck, but I'm not getting notified of changes. The notifications are there, but they don't show up in the little squares.

They just did for me - weird.

The whole thing is not stable yet, the cross site rep cache is also broken

@ShadowWizard My recent activity is behind like a day.

12:04 PM
and it's been 15 minutes since they should have shown up.

@MikeM. see MSE front page, at least 3 bug reports so most likely same issue

@ShadowWizard Ah, thanks. Didn't think to check there. Cheers!

Question - if you have written a highly upvoted answer, and the qustion subsequently gets closed (ultimately deleted) do you lose the rep for your answer?

@Jolenealaska I think yes.

Aarrggh

12:07 PM
Pro Tip: Answer questions unlikely to get closed.

hehehee...Yeah, I'll work on that :)

When I first joined the site, I answered a question caused by a simple typographical error, ("FORM" in sql statement instead of "FROM"), it got closed and naturally faded, and I did lost the rep gain. :P

@Unihedron not if the answer is older than 60 days

I figured as much. The answer in question is my second highest voted answer to date, but has recently garnered 2 close votes.

@rene Really? That's interesting.

12:10 PM
that's not likely to help me (but it's good to know)

Question: How often does tag scores in profiles update? (not realtime)

Q: How does "Reputation" work?

Justin StandardOn Stack Exchange, users may gain a certain level of reputation. What does reputation do? How can a user gain or lose reputation? See also What is reputation? How do I earn (and lose) it? in the Help Center Are there any voting limits? Maximum amount of votes a user can use in ...

@Jolenealaska if your answer is more than 60 days old and got score of 3 or more, you won't lose the reputation

176k rep; eager to answer a crappy question instead of encouraging someone to actually fix their crappy question

Ah, that's the problem, my answer weren't 3+ score.

12:11 PM
@Unihedron I think that runs in the 03:00 UTC batch
@ShadowWizard meah, I only got it half correct :(

I think I'm screwed.

@rene better than nothing ;)

A: Coca Cola's Secret Recipe

JolenealaskaIt's no secret, here it is! Complete with the cocaine that was removed from Coke's production in 1903: Picture and text from This American Life The radio broatcast recording on the above link makes a very compelling case that the picture at the top of the page is really the original formula...

That many upvotes is a rare thing on the cooking site.
to lose 320 rep in one swoop would annoy me, but I'll get over it.

Closed questions won't disappear until they become inactive pages (low views and negative score) though.

@Unihedron not really. Only 0 or negative scored questions are auto deleted when closed. +1 questions can stay closed forever, unless manually deleted by mod/users.

12:17 PM
This one is tantalizingly enough named, that it may continue to get views. 5000 views in a week is almost unheard of in our little stack.

@Jolenealaska That answer though, it has pretty graphics and links to authenticated sources, it will do good reads for another dozen people before it gets buried.

@Jolenealaska it was featured in the "Hot Network Questions" sidebar for a while, which means every visitor in every SE saw its title, many became curious.

People have obviously enjoyed it, whether or not it's OT. An argument could be made either way.
@ShadowWizard Yep, at least half of the views were during that time.

Anyway, doubt it will get deleted. Closed yes, deleted no. :)

^ Agrees.

12:22 PM
And you don't lose rep for closed, right?

I CV'd my own question on SO.

@Jolenealaska right

That's cool. I have a goal, and I'm very close :)

Good luck!!

I want to "out-rep" someone I keep disagreeing with :)

12:25 PM
@Jolenealaska three letters? all caps? ;)

@ShadowWizard Maybe ;)

lol
good luck anyway!

12:48 PM
did @AnnaLear go to sleep again?
@Jolenealaska ever since they removed the cocaine, it's tasted worse and worse

@iStimple LOL damndest thing! Some things should just be left alone!

yea, like mello yello was so much better before they added the penis reducer serum

@InfiniteRecursion As in auto-detecting it? That's a very hard problem to solve with code, but yeah - it's come up a few times. As for actively working on it? Not yet

I heard the scream here, @Unihedron!

It's madness! It's- long silence

pebbles of course, @iStimple :)

Too shiny. I think it's a hologram created by the devil.

I dislike reviewing LQ posts because most of them are link only, which does have some value. So not looking good, not deserving delete and can't really be edited to shape. Downvote might be the proper action but it's not part of the review.

@ShadowWizard I agree. Plus, it's been sitting there so long, I wonder who even flagged them.

1:54 PM
@ShadowWizard They do deserve delete.
@Unihedron When there's a flood of new ones, it's the system.

@bjb568 why? it's still useful.

@bjb568 no, 60 of my flags of NAA were on posts in the last week; but yea, if they are old ones then it is definitely only users and not the system

Shog9I think we can all agree, this sucks: If you've been around a little while, you've probably encountered hundreds of answers like this in various forums, some of them even marked as "The Answer" by well-meaning1 forum admins looking to close a thread. @ShadowWizard Node is fine. Not angular.

@bjb568 too late, higher forces force me to use it :(

2:25 PM
@cupcake , if you add p2.Score > 1 in your turk query , it reduces the time of the query by 60%. Unlikely that plagerizes copy answers with scores less of 2? But even score >=0 should speed it up significantly

So many duplicates of the top bar notification bug on M.SO: am I the only one who's not having this issue?

Probably.
I have 1 stuck.

2:41 PM
@AstroCB you got notification now?

@ShadowWizard Alerted; clicked on notification and number gone as usual.

@AstroCB and after refresh, number not coming back?

@ShadowWizard Nope.

hmm... so maybe they're finally deploying a fix (probably will take several hours to affect all users)

... I think it just depends on when you got the notification. If you are getting the notification now, then it's fixed. If you got it when things were sticking, it's still stuck.

People just don't spend more than a second on those things

> You didn't... really fix it...

@hichris123 too much to fix in the post itself, too lazy for this.
but that edit is plain wrong.
oh, you quoted yourself. lol

@ShadowWizard yeah. :P
And the edit summary is "fixed title".

I'm disappointed: no one has been working on destroying .

2:47 PM
@hichris123 That seems to be the automatic comments.
@AstroCB Except you.

@Unihedron Exactly.

@hichris123 could be hilarious if it was "fixedd title" ;)

^^^

@Unihedron no automatic summary in suggested edits, the editor must supply a summary.

@Unihedron No, I don't think there's an automatic edit summary for under 2kers..? maybe?

2:49 PM
Ah, true! I wonder...

@Unihedron Yes; there's no auto-summary. Even if there were, the auto-summary for title edits is just "edited title."

@AstroCB Thanks for the information!

@AstroCB: Burinations are disappointing and a waste of time. Welcome to the reality :P

@InfiniteRecursion It's not necessarily a complete waste of time. I'm currently burninating a tag, and discovered (and later on went to edit) many posts that needed cleaning up.

what is a gerber file?
Oh, it's for 2D models.

The Gerber format is an open 2D bi-level vector image file format. It is the de facto standard used by printed circuit board (PCB) industry software to describe the printed circuit board images: copper layers, solder mask, legend, etc. The standard file extension is .GBR, though other file extensions are very common. There are two major versions of Gerber format: Extended Gerber, or RS-274X, is commonly used today. Standard Gerber, or RS-274-D, is deprecated; it is superseded by RS-274X. == Usage == One usage is the transfer of PCB design data from design to manufacturing. PCBs are typica...

I'm a prodeletionist myself, even if my meta voting doesn't always reflect the case

Negative scored questions (hint: easy to identify) that sit stale without any answers (hint: that's the algorithm for the front page) are almost always newish, horrible, and deletable (hint: that's what VLQ is (I think)).

@bjb568 Were the posts delicious?
