@downvoter why down vote??? — EmptyData yesterday
and the comments afterwards. :D

Ok, I made it -5 and closed it. Hope you are happy. Next time, ask about a specific programming problem, don't just ask for debugging help. — bjb568 8 secs ago

nice!

Nobody stared at the light, did they?

my spam filter was, assuming "the light" refers to the realtime tab websocket.

this question is asked every week
why on earth do people not use search?
there are at least 10-20 dupes now.
I have the temptation to downvote every post

@FinalContest do downvote

that user (Nejat) answers every post, pretty much, regardless how poor they are.
and I told him several times not to answer such posts, but he does not consider using close vote, etc.
@JanDvorak: already done.
This question is asked almost every week, and I think even you answered it as duplicate already. Please use the close vote next time. — Final Contest 7 secs ago
the question needs two more downvotes so that I can cast a delete vote :)
it does not add any value, this issue is usually asked by just pasting the error message, like here.

Aw… it's only been 6 hours…

I reached the point where I cannot help others much about close votes as I have plenty on my plates to close when looking for helping others.

Important day tomorrow. So going to bed early. Goodnight.

good night

@FinalContest you need to do more grinding in the QT tag

I have never errr... contributed to QT

then explain the silver badge

I do not have QT silver badge ;)

6:56 AM
Hehe, good old QT vs Qt

I cannot clean up qt questions that are not tagged originally as C++ since I only hold a c++ gold badge, and even then, I can only clean up duplicates. :/

What kind of magic powers do you expect from us if you only hand us the error and nothing else? Not the php code, not the server config, not the htaccess file..nothing...we are good but we are not magicians... — rene 58 secs ago

Bud. I would have upvoted but they ask for reputation to do even poop. I am sure to encourage open disccusions as you said. — user261723 17 mins ago

The writing style of that answer seems oddly similar to that of the OP. Could it be that ... nah, that can't be the case.

@rene gone now. The front page is now clean.
And I'm back.
"I am certain this question will be market as duplicate of something.." ... so in essence you're saying "probably has been discussed before, but I can't be bothered to look for it"?. — Bart 2 hours ago
so true
I can't delvote yet, but if you need me after two days, let me know.

shouldn't such questions be migrated to music.SE? stackoverflow.com/questions/22773939/…
it does not seem to be about programming at all.
are link-only answers like this acceptable on music SE?

@TimStone you around?

Hmm?

Would you happen to be associated with timstone.com?

Nope

Ah, okay.
Also how are you?

Tired, so very tired. Children are exhausting. :P
How about yourself?

3:17 PM
Can't complain. Also tired, but surely not like you. Just moved. Still in the same time zone though.

Ah, nice. Hopefully you're getting settled in well? We're hoping to find a house sometime in the nearish future.

Yeah. Had a bit of an issue with the movers on the day we were supposed to leave the old place, so we had to make a second trip, but now all of our stuff is finally here. Except I had to leave a bike behind. But it was old and in terrible condition anyways.
One fairly nice table broke while in the truck, so I'm trying to find someone who buys used/broken furniture, fixes it and resells it, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.
All I'm coming up with is people who fix furniture. And I doubt I could pay for that and still make a profit on craigslist.

Yeah, hrm. Seems like maybe something you could sell at a discount at a flea market or something, since that might be the right kind of audience, but that's a bit of effort.
And now I'm off to yet another baby shower. So. Many. Children. (but thankfully we just still have one for now :P)

I was just going to throw it out, being a wasteful American and all, but one of the movers said that refurbishers exist, and it's a nice enough table that I figure it's worth doing.
Enjoy!
And re-congrats!

Am I handling this correctly? I feel there's a deeper problem here that posting an answer wouldn't solve.

I've done that aleady but it won't work on how its supposed to work. Given this situation: 10 young men agreed to purchase a gift worth $10,000 for their boss. In addition, they agreed to continue their plan even if at least one of them dropped out. Write a program that would input the number of men who dropped out (assume 0 to 9 only) and output how much more will each have to contribute toward the purchase of the gift. these are just practice exercise given to us, and apparantly no one in my class knows how to do it either. — user3718085 4 mins ago
It's an XY problem... :/

@Doorknob That was also my first reaction...

@JanDvorak How offensive?

@hichris123 what do you want to flag it as?

it would be closed as a rant on any meta.x.so

@hichris123 hate speech?

Eh. Does anybody know off-hand whether it's possible to ping non-moderator close voters?

@JeremyBanks have they spoken?

@JeremyBanks Not unless they've edited or commented

Anonymous
@JanDvorak Nope. I read that it's possible to ping moderators closers even if they haven't, but I wasn't sure if the same applied to non-moderators.

It only applies to diamonds

Alright. Thanks.

If you believe this that is

is it possible to ping people in comments by @theiruseridnumber ?
even if they haven't left a comment

@user0000000 Jon Skeet would hate that.

@JanDvorak I'll get those nuked for you. :P
@rene ... not seeing it...

7:23 PM
You can ping people in comments only if they have edited or commented on the post, or they're a diamond moderator and closed the question you're commenting on.

@Doorknob wow, jon skeet pays for his email, skeet@pobox.com , stackoverflow.com/users/22656/jon-skeet google.com/#q=pobox.com

@hichris123 Maybe I'm oversensitive...
