Are we having a big party when the close vote review queue hits 70k? ;)

2:01 AM
The user who just posted a spam question on Meta has been spamming WebApps with his friends {1, 2, 3}, and I'm all out of spam flags. Someone deal with them?

Agh. It's cold outside.
My fingers are like ice cubes. O.O

4:24 AM
I think it's silly that people put their email addresses in their email signature block. If you just sent me an email, I think I can figure that part out.

@Shog9: Any interest in adapting the display of the review counter from "1 need review" to "1 needs review"?

@ThiefMaster Well then, I'll bake some cookies in anticipation for Jeff's arrival...

@Shog9 None of my business of course, but wouldn't it a better idea to get Joshua Hynes a shiny diamond? Or at least some sort of appropriate privilege... Suggested edits like these from a low-rep user are rather confusing: meta.stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/17050 meta.stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/17049

@jadarnel27 It's quite useful when you've been sent an email chain you've not been party to and someone's useless mail client has removed any other way of determining their email address.

2:27 PM
@DuncanJones I see your point. Although I think that's rare enough that one could just request the email addresses needed.
Also, my perspective is from a big company, where all kajillion of us use Outlook, and it does not strip out the to/from headers.

@Bart sigh... He's supposed to be able to edit without needing one. Guessing something broke again.

@Shog9 Myeah, guessed as much later on, given that we regular folk can't even suggest such edits.

2:44 PM
@Shog9 Yeah, it's rather amusing that it bypasses the moderator-only tag check, but not the edit check, heh.

Jim
I'm thinking this should maybe be part of the FAQ

Q: When are the elections?

ThursagenI'm really confused on this. I have no idea on several things: When do elections begin? Is there a set time each year? Do elections actually take place each year? How do I vote? Where do I vote? Etc. Can someone please help me?

Thoughts?

Huh, there's really nothing in the help center about elections? It's not an every day part of using the site, but I'd agree it's important enough to get a mention somewhere.

@TimStone it's never been part of the FAQ
gets mentioned in passing when talking about moderators, IIRC
not against it, but... Just wasn't any source material to speak of.

Yeah, the help center search is just craptastic.

Jim
I was surprised there was no election FAQ
although now I've found one that already is [faq-proposed]

Q: There's an election going on. What's happening and how does it work?

ben is uǝq backwardsThe community bulletin says that there is a moderator election occurring. How does the election work and how can I get involved? Return to FAQ index

2:55 PM
Probably worth adding that to the help next time we run an election

Jim
I'd suggest adding a link in the Moderation section of the FAQ
or a couple links (including how the elections work, how votes are counted, who's eligible, etc)
I doubt there're enough question to warrant an "Elections" section though

Hmm, speaking of elections...
How goes it, @TimPost?

@jadarnel27 My manager has sent me a text message to ask if I had his number...

Can someone post the contents of this post here: stackoverflow.com/questions/18281142/…
it got closed before i could see it...and now I really want to see it.

@ಠ_ಠ It's just a troll. If you stick around, I'm sure another one will pop up at some point. The content is just random nonsense that's not related at all to the hilarious title.

Was on the First Posts queue. Saw a question where there was no poster name. Just the anonymous avatar image. After reading it, I'm thinking, "This sounds like something Jon Skeet might write". Lo and behold, it was Skeet...
