@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Yeah... that will be remembered as "Havoc in Codidact"....
@ElementsInSpace @PetəíŕdtheWizard is not a Khajiit. They are a wrestler.
7:57 AM
@SPArcheon-onstrike I see no reason that they can’t be both.
8:12 AM
@ShadowWizard Can you please dupehammer meta.stackexchange.com/questions/254355/…? I don't think the question is opinion-based, as evidenced by the fact that the proposed duplicate got objective answers, but there's another question with fact-based answers.
8:24 AM
@ElementsInSpace because then they would have to wear a tiger mask on top of a tiger face.
Sounds like the perfect disguise to me.
8:39 AM
@SPArcheon-onstrike Fun.
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I can't, I already voted to close it back in 2015.
(though I agree now it's on topic.)
@ShadowWizard Honestly, users with a gold badge dupehammer should be allowed to use it on questions they voted to initially close, given that the guidance states that if a question is closed for a non-duplicate reason, none of the non-duplicate reasons apply to the question's current revision, and a duplicate exists, it should be reopened and re-closed as a duplicate.
I can't even review it. :/

threw in a vote too, and fixed all the broken links :D

the heck? Nest a bunch of tags incorrectly and it breaks the rest of the page
that's how I got my first ban from a web forum back in ~2005
how is this possible
the ideal version of this (what I did back then) is to break the rest of the page so badly that moderators can't click the Edit or Delete button to remove your post (: let's see if we can do that here
I wonder if there's a bug report somewhere..?
@Jeremy You broke it.
it's not broken enough yet
Are you sure
5:11 PM
the edit and delete button are still clickable. If a mod can fix it without manually editing a URL, it's not broken enough.
Humble request to return it to pseudo-usability after your testing is over. It's the formatting sandbox so I really don't care much, but yeah.
but I've deleted the post so we at least aren't annoying <10ks and... yeah, I'll do that when I'm done :thumbups:
Thank ya thank ya
5:26 PM
@Jeremy That's... interesting. It also feels like something that'd get a :-)
I was going to see if I could fix it upstream but I don't immediately see the code responsible for ensuring valid HTML nesting (which seems to only go 8 layers deep so we can create these messes by going deeper)
Isn't that server side (and closed source)...?
@cocomac Nope, that part of the code has ~always been open source! Per this post the old implementation was this and the new one is this.
5:45 PM
I don't think so, because that throws an error, it doesn't give up.
Reverted the post to a non-harmful state and giving up for now. We can make links escape but I couldn't seem to get s to escape, which seems weird, and HTML prevents the broken links from escaping beyond the next real link, so it doesn't mess up the rest of the page.
if you go to the revision you can see the link escaping by clicking on "answered 44 mins ago" above my user card and seeing it follow my link

Thanks for fixing the post on the API question as well. I meant to adjust it but got super sidetracked.
So, the Stacks editor is the only option for Teams? That makes its ongoing brokenness on iOS even more confusing, because it's not just a matter of not giving a damn about the community, their product is broken for paying customers too.
Product quality? Hah! Who needs that when we have marketing?
If we focus on B2B, we don't need a functional product, because we just need to convince leadership to buy into it with our flashy presentations, and it doesn't matter if the end users hate it, they're not making the decisions.
two years later oops we've lost a billion dollars and counting
better keep giving the same CEO more money to burn
8:25 PM
@Jeremy Wait, did you break it at all? Never noticed any issues in Webkit.
9:23 PM
but I didn't succeed in breaking it like I wanted to, no
@Jeremy Everything looks fine to me.
Andreas doesn't have 10k, so: i.imgur.com/PKqBsHG.gif
oh, derp, my bad.
@Spevacus I'm poor, do you write cheques?
@Jeremy Yeah, but even when you broke it earlier today, I visited the site, and it wasn't broken for me. I assume everyone else that tried it was using Chromium.
@Spevacus Anyway, thanks. I wasn't interested in staying around to farm reputation at SE's announcements. :P
AFAIK this shouldn't be very browser-dependent behavior. I saw the original post I'm copying in iPhone Safari first.
9:27 PM
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Wouldn't be me... No sir...
@Spevacus Heh, you also realized it's pointless. :P
Once you hit 20k, it's all dust in the wind. :P
@Jeremy Oh, well, I didn't try mobile Safari.
Ain't interested. ;)
Actually, it would be nice having access to the 20K tools and statistics to get an idea of how they're presented and used.
it's weird that <strike> will escape containment but and won't... I wonder if that's a browser thing or some special-casing (or incidental order-dependent behaviour) in the markdown engine.
Did somebody say strike?
9:37 PM
The fact that it works for <strike> but not <del> is very weird
You can strike against SE, but you can't delete their obsessions.
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Not gonna lie, the stats page is close to useless. You can accomplish the same graph with SEDE queries (And people have, I'm sure). There's a mod-only analytics page meta.stackexchange.com/q/289209 that's pretty darn good, but the amount you can share is discretionary (and errs on "keep it private").
oh that's kind-of funny. :P
9:52 PM
@Spevacus So that's the one I should aim for...
