tried again my luck with Law.SE. Let's see if I get any noteworthy answer.
08:35
@SPArcheon I don't have an answer but I have some edits, which are both a cynical rep-grab and make your question better :D
@JourneymanGeek yep, those were indeed a typo, thanks for catching it.
glad to help
also makes up for the post that I for some reason thought was on SU, was on MSE, a lost soul and...
Balance in all things :D
@JourneymanGeek Looking at this now, this is a fun one too:
> Dealing with the sales organization can sometimes be trying.
Review from Customer Support Dept

Be more willing to go out their way to help when help is asked for.
Review from Sales Dept
Reading this, Sales Dept does not get the sympathy vote :P

Sales has one job. Make revenue :D
Or this one:
> Some coworkers are very smart and hardworking, some don't pull their weight. Management needs to performance manage better.
Review from Product Dept
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Environment Reviews
The people are really great and we try not to take work too seriously
Review from Engineering Dept · Posted a month ago
I mean, not taking work too seriously is classic sysadmin. A good sysadmin is a bored sysadmin
Different questions but seeing those two below each other XD "performance manage better" and 'not take work too seriously' XD
Oh yeah, and there's different ways of 'not taking work too seriously', but it's jut funny if it's below each other like that

Either I am missing something, or the company really took Team Rocket motto to the letter.
Prepare for trouble, make it double?
Or 'Team Rockett is blasting off again'?
Indeed the former.
I hope I got that wrong.
Oh, same.
Too many pop-ups is annoying.
Or prompts
also... may be worth a second answer...
Does it anywhere say if "unregistered" means "unregistered anywhere" or "unregistered on the site"?
I think they also don't understand unregistered/passive users are still going to see ads, and otherwise get an impression of the site
converting them should be cause "I find value" not go full sealion on them
10:15
@JourneymanGeek coff coff ublock coff coff
@SPArcheon well yes but don't tell manglement that
also practically collectives is unblockable ads :D
@JourneymanGeek should add a "Hic Sunt Dracones" to the site footer.
or even better... "Hic Sunt OpenAI"
Aperi, not Open
(If I recall the little Latin that I know correctly XD)
pretty sure that 1) the gen AI madness will pass onto the next fad 2) I've not actually seen any benefits for the community from the 'partnerships' so far
@JourneymanGeek Ehy, I am still waiting for Pony Diffusion V7, let at least wait for that before a new fad comes.
10:35
Its a small sacrifice for the greater good
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact don't worry, Genshin gave me another weapon to use against you.
Adorable candy colored melusine instead
@SPArcheon Am I supposed to feel something?
10:54
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact nope, you shouldn't notice anything as we brainwash you to the adorkable side of the force
11:08
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact On the contrary. HOOVES FOR THE GLUE POT!
11:31
@JourneymanGeek want a ticket for Yulin? I heard the city is so nice during the summer solstice.
Mislabeled ticket for hell.
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact They were the ones staring the war by mentioning horse glue.
@SPArcheon I was worried he was trying to glue the horses onto me.
11:46
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact with horse glue?
@JourneymanGeek Well, I'm fine with making glue from ponies.

@JourneymanGeek And for the frikandellen, kroketten and bitterballen! :P Today in the news, horse meat from old racing horses made its way illegally into the famous Dutch snacks XD
@Tinkeringbell there were rumours that ikea meatballs had horse :D
(I'd note, I do not condone eating or turning into glue any Tavern denizens)
@JourneymanGeek There was another horse meat scandal here in the past so that may have been true... I'll Google. Meanwhile, source: nu.nl/binnenland/6316693/…
@JourneymanGeek there was also the rumor that McDonald had "thing" meat, as in lab created boneless meat blob monstrosities
@SPArcheon Hey, 'thing' meat was in the news here just recently too, big thing that people could actually go and try it, and the reporter that made a video about it looked really surprised it tasted like actual sausage (and not meat-replacer soy bean sausage)
Structure and stuff too
I'd eat thing meat if that review of the product turns out to be true.
12:51
@SPArcheon there was a... Dr Who or torchwood episode about that
@Tinkeringbell oh, impossible 'meat' and other such things?
@JourneymanGeek No, true lab-grown meat.
ah
I THINK they're trying that here
impossible 'meat' isn't meat and taste and structure are still different.
@JourneymanGeek Yep, same here.
Never had it :D
I might at some point - there's a local vegan place that has it as an option, but the last time I was there they had something more interesting as the special for the week
They've got a ways to go here, production needs to be scaled up for it to become both more affordable and more environmentally friendly than regular cows/pigs/chickens... I'm very curious to see how that's going to turn out, because that needs to be subsidized in some way or another then, because there's not going to be market demand driving that upscaling when it remains as it is now.
Oh, it's only in the 'it can be offered for taste-testing' stage here, under circumstances. There's no permission to sell it in restaurants or supermarkets yet, IIRC.
12:58
Or either people being curious or the whole virtue signalling thing
Hmm. I would think the virtue signallers would stick to regular vegan food because the production process of lab grown meat on small scales isn't environmentally friendly either
\o/
The really funny thing is, IIRC one of the things you need to culture meat is... bovine fetal serum apparently
Eh, I'm not a lab grown meat scientist :P
@Tinkeringbell more like "bio engineered rats with no legs or head or eyes, just a big ball of meat with no fur that can only live inside a sterile pod because it has no resistance to any virus".
Could very well be, that processes currently need that. I just read an article that said that if current production processes were scaled up, it would be even more polluting than 'regular' meat.
13:06
Ye know, Invasion of the Body Snatcher level creepypasta.
@SPArcheon Sounds like lab-grown meat to me.
@JourneymanGeek Why would they not?
But then described by someone that doesn't like the idea of lab-grown meat.
Horse is a common ingredient.
cause in most countries they don't eat horses
and it wasn't labelled as containing horse
13:06
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact Sure, but it's also way cheaper than e.g. cow, so adding horse meat to 'beef meatballs' is fraud :P
It's the taste that matters.
@Tinkeringbell I watched a few youtube videos :D
@Tinkeringbell technically, lab grown meat is just replicating cells with no awareness. There the rumor was trying to point to "it is alive and suffering" body horror tropes
Cow is one of the most boring meat types.
Apparently also you can make vegan chicken flavouring, and it tastes similar to/better than the actual stuff
13:08
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact I'm Dutch. Overpricing is a serious crime :P
@SPArcheon Eh, meh.
@Tinkeringbell Hi, Van Der Linde.
Wrong :P
@JourneymanGeek there was also an old flash game about that. Something like McDonald Management simulator
@JourneymanGeek Ah, you did your own research. Well done!
@Tinkeringbell I'd take youtube research with a giant pinch of salt
IIRC the fella doing it was trying to replace that and something else with cheaper things
@Tinkeringbell only shows how little effort @Andreas puts into trolling. Considering the premise and how this started, I though he would at least call you "Frau Blücher" or something similar. You should really appreciate my effort more, you know :P
Isn't the the antagonist from one of the Wolfenstein games?
@SPArcheon Ah, Blücher, the embarrassment of the German navy falling to untrained crew of a Norwegian naval gun and torpedo battery.
13:17
@AndreasmovedtoCodidact that's a coverup of the secret norweigian penguin commando
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nils_Olav One of his ancestors, but sadly the true story will never be told
@JourneymanGeek and the best part is that actually there is no reason the horses are scared of the name. All the rumors about "Blücher" being similar to the word "glue" or being the name of a famous butcher chains are indeed false

@SPArcheon Huh? I always assumed it was implying that she tortured the animals, or had sex with them or something. Sex because of the way she looks at the camera when they first whinny. But the general idea is that she somehow abuses them so they're scared of her. Why would anyone think the name would be relevant? That would require the horses to be able to understand language puns.
They're afraid of her and have associated her with her name.
@SPArcheon snort fair
But come on. This is not the face of someone with nothing to hide!
I have no idea what you're talking about.
@terdon there is also this clip I just used on the Arqade board after a similar uncouth remark / joke.
@JourneymanGeek and as usual, totally forgot what's luncheon meat, except a Smokey spam trigger that I never understood. Lol
And looks like I missed some interesting topics today here... :-D
16:36
.... Am I stupid or some "UI improvements" ago we used to be able to self flag our own comments if we needed to point out something for moderation purposes?
@Tinkeringbell Alas, since I can't use a flag, when you have some spare time, could you please change this to say "ask them" instead? thanks.

so I don't think we can blame UI improvements
