@Donotlikenewbuttons then post on your per-site meta. Bugs can be reported anywhere and on your per-site meta downvotes don't affect your rep, if that is your main concern about the downvotes. And you can post in a language that matches your main site. Users might still feel the bug is a corner case that only effects a low number of users that no-one wants developers to spend time on it. That might lead to downvotes as well.

@Lundin many bug reports get downvoted. Sometimes because people don't think it's really a bug, sometimes because it's too minor, sometimes because it's just about something people don't like in general. Nothing is safe from downvotes, only way to avoid them for sure is not posting.

Which is fair, nobody is forcing anyone to post anything.

@ShadowTheSpringWizard If that's the case, at least we'll know for sure that we don't need to put any more effort into the site. It's be good for our mental health.

If the company fails to meet our demands, we are only skipping forward to our end which would have arrived eventually, anyway; the time forward to that end would have contained nothing but abuse of us.

@Tinkeringbell We have no other realistic course of action. If we achieve nothing, that is on SE; it is then their decision to push us away once and for all.

We will then be free to move on, and leave SE behind.

That sounds like a complicated rage-quit to me. You can already walk away, no need to announce a 'strike'

You may label it as that, if you wish. However, I am not alone in this matter; you should ask for the opinions of others, and why they engage in the strike, before drawing a conclusion.

But I do intend to return if they meet our demands. I do not want to leave SE.

This is the community which I prefer.

@Andreasdetestscensorship problem is, there's endless pool of new users. SE might dig for some sensible people from there, make them mods, and keep going.

@Tinkeringbell strike isn't rage quit at all. Rage quit is when you're directly doing damage, e.g. deleting stuff.

And strike has a goal, to achieve something, then the one striking will be back.

@ShadowTheSpringWizard Announcing anyone can start posting crap/misbehaving without a chance of being moderated is also directly doing damage.

Usually people won't come back from rage quit.

yes, but the loophole is if you have a community where you haven't recently changed your name, you can use that community to again change your name, but that loophole only works once every 30 days

(i'm not sure if joining a new community would give you another chance)
