A: What does dimensionless Jerk=1 mean?

Rexer000I realise this doesn't answer the question, but having seen this on the Hot Network Questions tab from a coding question, I couldn't help but immediately think that this was someone's clever label for God

best NAA on the site.

I almost feel regret for flagging as NAA :P

Seems clear:
> "Determining the first three Taylor coefficients of the equation of state at the current epoch requires a measurement of the deceleration, jerk, and snap -- the second, third, and fourth derivatives of the scale factor with respect to time. Higher-order Taylor coefficients in the equation of state are related to higher-order time derivatives of the scale factor. Since the jerk and snap are rather difficult to measure, being related to the third and fourth terms in the Taylor series ...".

My favorite advert from when/while looking at my own FB account, was a picture of horns on Eminem. Same advert for years of horns on Eminem. (That should be in my GDPR data too, with the exact advert evidence.)

@luuk, I sent you a (now deleted) comment to refresh the page. I rolled to revision 2, if you did the same then that shouldn't have happened (bug, you say?). In any event I've read your comment there.
,😀

@Rob okay, then I'll delete it there too

Dynamic programming isn’t about design patterns; it’s a way of thinking that breaks down a problem into individual components.

3:08 PM

@bad_coder It's spelled Nürnberg

@Luuklag Depends what country you're in, toponyms do get translated in case you didn't know.
A guy form Aachen is obviously an Aachennense!!

3:23 PM
But yeah, I remember that match being played. It looked more like MMA then like soccer

@bad_coder He could be an Aachenian

@JourneymanGeek funny you should mention the Athenians, they won the Euro just before the world cup :D

I was actually thinking the narinians.
THey've never lost a football match.

@JourneymanGeek HAHA if we google it really hard, I'm sure we can find a place called Narina with a small soccer club in it :D

A: Intermittent "maintenance"

Josh ZhangOn Friday the 28th around 23:30 UTC, Stack Overflow was hit by a DDoS attack. Unlike previous attacks this month, this one ramped up very quickly and brought SE Network sites down. Once alerted, the SRE Team began analyzing the nature of the attack and took steps to mitigate it. We were able to s...

Ah, it's up :) I was waiting for that :D

@JourneymanGeek already reported above by me

ah
oops
Oh well, jnat can do 2 reports for the price of 1

3:58 PM
Black Monday?

feels like an unusually slow monday
deceptively slow

If you're waiting for something (like the day to be over) time does tend to slow down ;)

I got lots of sleep yesterday

There'll be another attempt at delivering my dining chairs tomorrow XD
So yeah, day is going slow because I'm waiting for that to happen.
@JourneymanGeek Time flew by?

AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE
@Tinkeringbell time I coulda spent doing things

4:09 PM
Fair, shame on you :D

I went to sleep at 10.30 am, woke up at 1.30, and had a hot lunch, then went back to sleep from 2.30 to 7.30
@Tinkeringbell heh, one thing I don't need to worry about ._.
I'm not getting a dining table if I can avoid it

I have one... it's a good place to put stuff on... but I don't use it for dining much.
Mostly only when I have friends over, so they don't stain the couch.

Oh, I'm getting an interim computer table from ikea
something I can dismantle
@Tinkeringbell I suspect I'd probably not have that many people over XD
+ I got a friend who lives nearish to the new place so if she's free I can probably get her to house sit for deliveries if she's free, or get my parents to

Heh. I've been living here for a few months now (february 6th it will be 3 months). In the beginning it would mostly be mom/dad that came over, for the last DIY stuff. I think I've had friends over... thrice now?

Q: Changes to answer sorting menu: moving menu, "Newest" sort option, renaming sort options

Anita TaylorOver the coming weeks, we will be making some changes to the menu that allows you to sort the answers to a given question. We are making these changes based on a user survey that indicates that the names on the current sorting menu are confusing. This work is also part of the Outdated Answers pro...

@JourneymanGeek Oooh, more scrolling!

At least we got warning ahead of time :D

I'll bet you a crocheted item of choice that the score of that post will tank as soon as things roll out again too :P

I think its likely

4:52 PM
Hah, that makes for no betting then! XD

5:51 PM
I assume the only reason it's moving to the bottom is to avoid the additional line of css that would move it there for mobile

6:05 PM
@bad_coder why are you pinging me with that fact? You want me to top that record?

6:16 PM
yellow(ish) flowers yellow cards

@rene I wasn't aware of the record (although I watched the game), thought it deserved mention!
@Glorfindel if you had been in that game, I think you might have been one of the few players to finish the game without committing any foul :D

@bad_coder I play korfball and never received a yellow card, so perhaps you're right. But I do commit fouls, mostly caused by a lack of technique...

6:34 PM
@Glorfindel korfbal somehow fits my mental image of you perfectly XD

@Glorfindel that's great, I didn't even know the word korfbal and had only seen glimpses of the game on TV. I really like basketball so korfbal seems like a really nice sport.
@Glorfindel wait a minute... Portugal took 3rd place in the 1995 world championship and no one told me?! Now I'm a fan of korfbal!!

7:07 PM
@Tinkeringbell I guess I'm ... predictable?
@bad_coder it's the largest mixed team sport worldwide (or at least it was a few years ago). In the Netherlands, lots of people are making fun of it because it has such an old-fashioned image. I can't say they're wrong ...

@Glorfindel so I didn't understand that wrong reading wikipedia? The team mixes members of both genders? Man, that is seriously avant-garde nothing old-fashioned about it...!!!

FWIW I'm not really good at it. I played one match in the third national division, but my body is just better at endurance sports ...

Seems extremely healthy to me in social terms!

Yes, the social aspect is very important. There are a lot of 'korfball marriages' among my friends.

@Glorfindel marriage is likely to happen whenever you mix the genders (I recall many of couples that formed during school).
@Glorfindel but yes, the man who never took a yellow card... He's the one who understands sports, like the martial artist who was never in a fight nor hurt anyone.

Q: I want to create NFT but I don't want to pay gas fee

Dipak RamoliyaI have 10+ creative designs and I want to make NFT of them, but when start make NFT I see gas fee that I have to pay to create NFT, so I want to know is there any way to create NFT free?

@bad_coder I can't disagree :) It does help that I'm a referee, so I know the rules quite well, and I know how far I can go in arguing with the referee...

@Glorfindel I dunno. I know little about you, but I think it's the suit in the profile picture. It makes you look "braaf" and I think korfbal isn't necessarily old-fashioned but compared to e.g. football it's very "braaf" :P

certainly :)

8:31 PM
safe and sound from the spam onslaught, the phone number spam is going to Server Fault and Stack Overflow this evening
but a pretty good blizzard on those sites

8:48 PM
@Glorfindel The bicycling club where I grew up also had a lot of marriages, but mostly between people that were already married, so that was the running joke of the town on anyone joining that club, that they were tired of their marriage.

9:06 PM
@tripleee looks like fun. Maybe I get some autoflags in as well
woohhooo I got 1 in on SU
