Can a high-rep user tell me what the upvote/downvote count on this question is? I can see that it has a score of -395 currently, but I'm curious what the ratio of upvotes to downvotes is. meta.stackexchange.com/q/375081

@cocomac +53 / -451
high-rep I'm not but enough to see that

^^ both the bitcoin ones are still up

flagged both, but not anywhere near deletion yet

I'm guessing this one can no longer work? stackapps.com/questions/2102/show-number-of-answers-accepted
are there other user scripts to find the accept rate using the modern site?
stackapps.com/a/8156/17434 looks more current but still doesn't appear to work

@tripleee any guesses as why smokey posted that islam post. Last activity on that thread was jan 6. And the MS link leads to a page with reports from 1 and 4 years ago.

There was new answer, that wasn't reported, and deleted shortly after.
When there's new answer, Smokey also re-scan all other answers.

ah yeah that explains as the why, but now the question is why there are 2 smokey reports from 1 and 4 years ago, and not one from today

(unless it has ignore command on any, but I was told several times to not use ignore, so not sure why it exists.)
(I used it a lot at first, until being told to stop.)
@Luuklag that I don't know. ;)

my best guess is that there was a communications glitch which prevented Smokey's report from reaching metasmoke

ֲ@Tink this popup:
(OP deleted the question)

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron Yeah or the one after, when you do press the delete question button on the one you've just shown?
It's still unclear to me.

@Tinkeringbell I'm pretty sure OP meant this one, think it's best to summon them here with a super ping and ask.

Meh. not that invested in the post.

oh wait no downvote. lol
Yeah most likely it was due to userscript, so OP disabled it and all works fine now.

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron or some blocking of JS?

1:55 PM
It's weird that you get that one popup first though, even in cases where you can't even delete... it suggests you would be able to.

@Luuklag yep
@Tinkeringbell indeed, there are feature requests asking to change this.

Oh good, means I don't have to write one :)

Anyway, the "announcement" of homepage design change is #6 in "Worst Questions Ever" on MSE (based on score), would likely get to #4 soon. But won't pass #3 which is the infamous "apology" of David.

Meh again.
Don't think it really matters, it's not a competition to see what's worse/worst ;)

Yeah. Today I already got used to the new design, but that's not the point.
The point is the way the company tells about changes, or doesn't tell, in such cases.
@Tinkeringbell of course, just a nice to know stat.

1:59 PM
@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron We should undelete Sara's post with the apology

I mean, they did tell, and it just didn't get much attention until it was there. There may be a bit of a disconnect between what the people that generally use MSE notice vs. what is noticed once it rolls out across the network/to more used pages...

@Tinkeringbell Would've been better if they rolled it out to the hompage of MSE only, instead of pushing it network wide at once

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron I think the 'nice' to know ones are about good things happening, and posts reaching the top 10 highest scoring ones ;)

@Luuklag hmm saw question with over 1000 downvotes, isn't it the one?
@Tinkeringbell at least for me, it's nice to know about bad things too, the "nice" is about knowing. :D

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron there is a deleted one by sara

@Luuklag Still not sure if that would've really done/changed anything, but it might be a start. I dunno, humans are going to be humans, I guess.

@Luuklag you mean something other than that?? It's not deleted.

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron yeah there is a deleted one by Sara that is really worse
but I cant find it now

@Luuklag oh my, forgot about it. Self protection mechanism, probably. :P
@Tinkeringbell omg

2:04 PM
Those were such lovely good old times...

@Tinkeringbell care to share the link to that?

Not really, actually...
I think the score is enough, if you're just comparing scores ;)

Lots of water flowed in the river since then, but still some spots of mud in the water from time to time.

I'd love to recall what the post is about, cause I know I somehow found it sometime

2:06 PM
Somehow this reminds me, @Mithical are you OK with the storm? No floods? Not drowning in snow? ;)

@Luuklag To be honest? If you'd like to move on it's best not to dwell on things from the past. This one at least was deleted ;)

@Luuklag become a mod, or even better, SE staff member. ;-)

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron No flooding, but I do have COVID.

@Mithical ouch, hope it's Omicron and not a nastier variant... feel well!
So you're at home, or in quarantine in the army?

at home

2:09 PM
Good... when I was sick and out of energy, winter soup of my mother helped me a lot.
And lots of lemon tea.
sending soup to @Mith

eats soup

sending $500 bill to @Mith
hahahah :D
That's what too many companies do, give you stuff "for free" based on phone call, then a while later, require money for the "free stuff". And lots of money. Happened even to my boss, with the company phone devices. lol

several of the Goldbach spams are still up mathematica codereview codegolf math
ditto both med; returning spammer one two

@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron The unfortunate messanger, who takes all the heat; less often praise.

only the Mathematica one of the Goldbachs is still up, and as noted earlier, only the first one of the med sciences
the Goldbach spams were extremely smelly also in that the "scientific journal" where the content is hosted is a Norwegian "climate, uh ... 'skeptics'" site

@Luuklag gone

thx :)

Agreed, all those jobs that are titled: "Senior XXX" offer a "competitive salary" but when you visit somewhere like GlassDoor to see what the average salary is it's too low - so a competitive salary is more than that, gee thanks.

I can't read stuff from people in that headspace, C-level, it's always business/marketing BS that ignores where things actually are
numbers aren't everything

@KevinB this is about the only reason a management major comes handy

4:47 PM
How to use !!/search command?
!/search example.com?

uh, no such chat command
nor do I think smokey

sorry i mean !!/scan

!/scan example.com?

@Rob ???

5:40 PM
@Fmbalbuena The proper syntax is !!/scan (url here, no parentheses), and Rob and Mithical linked you to those pages because they contain the list of commands that everyone can use, as well as how to use them.
If you'd like to report a post that you know for sure is spam, and Smokey hasn't caught it yet, pass it along to the folks in Charcoal HQ - They'll know what to do with it. You need to be on the privilege list with Smokey to manually report stuff.

^ Thanks.
It was NAA but after prompting they edited to improve their answer.

@KevinB That's a good way of saying it, "C-level headspace readability" :∫
@JourneymanGeek I got into Business instead of my CompSci and Linguistics department choices (I never finished), which was painful.

i can only explain it to myself as people A have an entirely different way of seeing the world than I do. That or, the more likely scenario, it's crafted for a particular audience that doesn't include me
(or the avg user)
and when you spend your time writing content like that, it's likely easy to not transition to a style more appealing to a different audience
