@bobble I disagree that the bump is "inappropriate", and bounties are great when an answer can be posted within a week that "solve my problem". For this problem, what kind of answer would merit awarding a bounty? — uhoh7 mins ago
@bobble the worst thing about that edit is the gratuitous "STILL" in the title, but as for bumping with edits...meh, who cares? As long as it's not being done so often as to be annoying/abusive.
People bump old stuff with edits to fix minor stuff all the time, I don't think an occasional reminder that will quickly fall off the frontpage is too bad
@bobble with respect to the closed question - I really wish people would look beyond the most 'literal' this is a dupe, and look at the bigger picture. The exact dupe has no answer - and had one closevote, and meta.stackexchange.com/questions/183558/… had 4
As much as "neatness" and curation for curation's sake - its also worth thinking of whether the newer question is likely to get the 'right' kind of attention

Today I woke up to a new item in my inbox, a chat reply sprayed with profanity that the community has flagged and deleted.
Could such items be removed from the recipients' inbox as well? Yeah, as a chat moderator I still get to read the message, but it's not something particularly productive or ...
@JourneymanGeek oh. I assumed you saw some difference between the questions because of comments e.g. "I think this is a specific subset of the situation"
