@bobble I disagree that the bump is "inappropriate", and bounties are great when an answer can be posted within a week that "solve my problem". For this problem, what kind of answer would merit awarding a bounty? — uhoh 7 mins ago
? Is it approriate?

hm

@bobble the worst thing about that edit is the gratuitous "STILL" in the title, but as for bumping with edits...meh, who cares? As long as it's not being done so often as to be annoying/abusive.
People bump old stuff with edits to fix minor stuff all the time, I don't think an occasional reminder that will quickly fall off the frontpage is too bad

If an edit is substancial... meh
the problem is when someone does dozens of small edits over a small period of time just to bump
a bump every few years, especially accompanied by a bounty is fair play
(granted, my views on bounties on meta is they're mostly pointless for getting things changed)

2:25 AM
@JourneymanGeek the bounty is because I mentioned it

2:40 AM
Also, @mods all the meta-tag uses of have been cleared out, could it be renamed?

@bobble with respect to the closed question - I really wish people would look beyond the most 'literal' this is a dupe, and look at the bigger picture. The exact dupe has no answer - and had one closevote, and meta.stackexchange.com/questions/183558/… had 4
As much as "neatness" and curation for curation's sake - its also worth thinking of whether the newer question is likely to get the 'right' kind of attention
To some small extent as a moderator - (and meta's at least a little special), this seems the best opportunity to ensure this gets looked at, especially with hints of chat getting a potential revamp in a future development cycle

So uh yes. I totally used my modhammer, for what I deemed to be the greater public good.

3:34 AM
@JNat stackexchange.com/users/19658623/bein-247 one more for the backlog

3:56 AM
@JourneymanGeek Maybe hammer it the other way in that case? (seems reasonable otherwise)

@RyanM Oh I did, that's the contention :D

Oh, no, I meant hammer the older one as a dupe of the newer one.

Ah eh, I guessss
but its an old post and it seems a bit wierd to wield a hammer that way to me :D

Then no one can argue it's not neat and tidy with everything in one place. You just changed the place :-)

Q: Chat messages removed by flags are not removed in the recipient's inbox

badpToday I woke up to a new item in my inbox, a chat reply sprayed with profanity that the community has flagged and deleted. Could such items be removed from the recipients' inbox as well? Yeah, as a chat moderator I still get to read the message, but it's not something particularly productive or ...

lol
I like a little chaos and messiness

@JourneymanGeek oh. I assumed you saw some difference between the questions because of comments e.g. "I think this is a specific subset of the situation"

I wonder why stackstatus RSS is not added in this room...
Chat is not always affected by maintenance, right?

Chat has different servers.
