I still believe that there should be a one-week notice on Stack Apps when it comes to changes that are slated to break widely-used user scripts or apps, so that authors of said scripts/apps can update their script in time for there not to be any break in functionality for end users.

A similar thing was done for translations: devs supplied a full list of new strings that would be added to the system in advance of a major feature rollout, so that users could get translations in before the rollout and there'd be no need to release an untranslated (unfinished) feature or hold off on a feature's rollout for translations.
