McDonald's Israel (Hebrew: מקדונלד'ס ישראל‎, romanized: Meqdonald's Yisra'el) is the Israeli master franchise of the fast food restaurant chain McDonald's. Operated and licensed by Alonyal Limited (Hebrew: אלוניאל בע"מ‎, Alonyal Ba'am), McDonald's Israel is the largest of Israel's burger chains with a 60% market share. The company sells hamburgers, chicken nuggets, French fries and soft drinks in branches across the country. Since its opening in Israel in 1993, McDonald's Israel has been in competition with Burger Ranch, Israel's second largest burger chain. The world's first kosher McDonald's...

Cheese can be added to anything... ;)

And it's still kosher??
That sounds new for me.

@πάνταῥεῖ only if it's not added to meat.
Cheese with burger isn't Kosher.
But in the Kosher branches there're simply no cheeseburgers. ;)

So my world is in the right centre again, of all what I know of kosher food.

Yup
Milk + Meat = Non Kosher

@Sha What's the historical reason for the rule? Can you enlighten me?

@πάνταῥεῖ old bible
One verse.

But why??

Think it's this one:
> 'Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk' (Exodus 34:26).
@πάνταῥεῖ God's orders
Those who follow God must not ask "why". :D
God says to do something.... you do it.

@ShadowWizardisEarForYou I fairly often disagree with him ;-)

Anyway, never bothered to really check, from what I do remember, studies made by Jewish researchers showed that mixing meat with milk isn't very good for one's health, and more prone to cause stomach issues.
Might be biased of course.... guess it falls under same category as circumcision of "maybe it's better maybe it's not, can't be sure about it".
These days it becomes less relevant with veggie burgers popping around.

I love Rinderbraten mit Rahmsosse no matter what.

@πάνταῥεῖ what's that? Google search showing only images and Dutch texts... :/

@ShadowWizardisEarForYou Here you go (but the recipe is in german): chefkoch.de/rezepte/184581079357620/…
I though like it more with potatoes.
The Brussels sprouts are fine, but it's more usual to serve Red cabbage along.
God is a weird person, that's probably why I became a buddhist :-P
