don't get me wrong, I've used unbranded products before

but yeah, the main issue with unbranded products is the drivers, if the seller doesn't already provide them

came with windows 8.1 for bing - though the activation smells fishy, has a sim slot that actually works (much to my shock) SD card slot takes a 128gb card.... screen's not very bad...

the problem is I'm stuck with a copy of windows with the the AV in chinese + isn't going to get upgraded

and I can't do a clean install cause drivers. And I even tried exporting and importing the drivers. Something small is wrong.

my advice would be to somehow find a way to return that thing to the seller, because I'm very suspicious that there is a virus in there (of course the antivirus will say there's none, they're not dumbos)

Its an annoyance from them installing the system in chinese, then swapping languages

which is also why doing a upgrade to windows 10 is a pain

I need to run the installer in chinese

now if I could get a working windows 10 install... I could try grabbing/dumping just the driver folder (the "official way" apparently misses a few things) and copying it over

What is the purpose of the tag meta? I'm asking since someone suggested an edit to my question, adding that very tag. It seems to me to be a remnant of the schism and discussing tags of other stacks wouldn't be really on topic here, so is meta really useful here?
