Ah well. I can understand it's frustrating but having never been on SO: Is it really that hard to write an answer to an old question, linking to the existing (perhaps accepted one), pointing out how it is out of date and what should be done to fix the problem described in the question now?

The professor has more confidence in saying what he wants to say, and less afraid that it might come off as absurd
