Hi there. Is there a known bug/by-design about caching and user removal? I've obviously tried browsing meta, but found nothing. The main "user was removed" post meta.stackexchange.com/a/126471/398063 doesn't seem to tackle it, either. I'm reluctant about asking it on Meta because it's so murky I'm not even sure how to phrase it, plus... That may "out" a removed user.

Basically, a user (well, actually, several, but the rep changes were only one so I'm thinking only one voted on my posts) was removed earlier today on a site I'm active on. As I'm curious, I checked my posts to see which one lost score, no apparent change from the score I remembered. Yes, I did blame caching.

@Jenayah "earlier today" that only runs once a day if it's what I'm thinking. Try viewing the vote split on one of the questions you think they voted on.

TBH that voting irregularity was something that I kinda saw coming due to some pattern on which ones of my posts were UVed but not the problem... The point being, I had a hunch which ones were likely to have been removed UV

The thing is, I seem to be able to "force" the correction manually.

Yes. Viewing the split forces a recalculation immediately.

How to explain... I have an answer that is at +11 on my profile, and I'm kinda certain it was voted on by removed user. I open it up, it's still at 11. I view the vote counts, it shows the...

Apparently, as far as I can see, 3 mods on Physics have publicly shown (on meta & comments) that they were aware about the situation, so I'm not sure the chance of your appeal

True, but that will be harder to do automatically. I can't just roll back to an old version if substantial changes have been made later on.

@SonictheIntrovertedHedgehog certainly, you have to fetch the revision list and then read the body or the markdown. The script doesn't do that yet, though.

Hi @Glorfindel, would the source in this post actually be postimg.org? Afaict, the source is not postimg.org. postimg.org is just a hosting server, where I uploaded a screenshot that I captured. So technically it's original content and has myself as source. Is that right?

I am asking because if this is incorrect, then this post edit might not be the only case of an incorrect source

@GaurangTandon no, not really. The bot knows about two dozen image hosters; if the image wasn't posted on one of those, it'll add a link to the source. I had already added postimg.org but only after your post was edited.
