@MonicaCellio another aspect that's not covered in the Gofundme - maybe you could clarify the plan in case you manage to collect say $20k, but not the full $30k

so that people are comfortable donating more

say, $10k - your lawyer starts talking to SE, but won't sue them. $20k - you'll sue them but won't appeal, $30k you'll sue and would be ready to appeal, etc

I don't have much to add to the conversation, really. Learned of the GoFundMe campaign just recently, and fully support it.
It's too bad SE didn't settled this in a friendly manner. But I'm glad to know you'll see that they do it by means of the law.

Wishing the whole process doesn't affect your wellness any more than it's already been affected so far; if I can do anything to help, you know how to reach me (I think). :)

@Marc.2377 thanks very much. This whole episode has affected my health (and done other damage), starting the day they fired me. I'm doing my best to cope with the effects. It's hard, but I'm pushing through somehow.

I wish they had been willing to talk with me. They won't even tell me what specifically I did that they say violated the current CoC. (Initially I was fired over the future CoC but then the story changed -- but I've been shown nothing.) This could have been, and still could be, settled by negotiation, but that requires them to participate and so far they're not. :-(

Indeed, I'd be surprised if it didn't.

I've been most disturbed by their lack of a clear stance on this over the last 30+ days, too. It leaves a bitter sensation on us all. Following mr. Fullerton's post, I followed up almost on a daily basis, as many of us did, hoping to see the corrective actions take place. But there was only silence. And then, a proposed reinstatement process that is nothing like the corrective actions we were expecting to see.

Well. It's been tough and sure will continue to be for a while. But I encourage you to hang in there to the best of your ability. Remember, you have our full support. (I probably speak for most of us on this)

This will be made right.

@LinkBerest thank you! The holidays were challenging because of this, but at least I was able to focus on the important stuff on Yom Kippur, even if Rosh Hashana was basically a write-off. Moadim l'simcha during Sukkot was challenging, but what can you do?

It's a relatively recent change, last year or two, to make meta (where network-wide stuff is handled) a little more accessible to folks from other sites. So you can come in with the association bonus and downvote answers a couple times, but if you want to keep doing that you better get some activity to build a little rep.

@Nobody In fact, that's one reason (I didn't mention in my post on it) I did that whole anonymous editing thing. So people would take me in from the outset, so I wouldn't have to spend so much time trying to fit in.
