@Catija No matter whether it's "answered" or "modified", clicking that text will go to the question plus ?lastactivity, so the bug is probably about that. (cc @SomewhatMemorableName)
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog are you sure? Is the hot questions formula used for the home page the same as used for the HNQ list? I always thought and was told they were different with the latter being a trade secret.
I'm not convinced but I don't have time to do research to support my point, so I'll refrain from casting a vote now. It doesn't risk to get useless/wrong answers so I assume time is not an issue here.
@Shog9 Do we have a good threshold for spamming accounts according to reputation? I would dare a guess that most have simply 1, but I do not know if they climb up to higher levels (20?50?100?).
I would also be interested if we have some kind of magical reputation barrier; I think we have many "one-time" askers who simply throw in a question and leave SE afterwards. Is there an amount of reputation where from experience you can say "It is very likely that the person stays."?
There's also two considerations... are you talking about pure spammers with no intention to participate or inadvertent spammers who get really excited about their blog or a new repository they created... very different situations.
The former is unlikely to have any rep, the latter, often likely.
@ThorstenS. In many cases we end up mod messaging and suspension over deletion. Its less reputation than whether we think there's a real person behind the account
I guess my "latter" is a bit different in that a random user shares someone's library/app that fixes their problem, thus very unclear affiliation. We usually posted a comment to disclose/disclaim, but more often then not, they didn't fix it, and we already forgot about that answer...
and thus, "innocent user" or "happy user of the library/app"
I have now read this answer several times but I doubt it answers the question, I even doubt if it answers a question. It reads more as a lead-in for an more extensive FR. Am I missing something?
@Catija Do you know if users with the staff bit are allowed by the GUI to migrate questions that are more than 60 days old, or do employees have to manage such migrations by manually tweaking the database?
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog, Stack Apps does need another mod, but Tim handles everything but close votes and suggested edits fairly well. (and there are only 2 3K users reviewing) On the other hand, it doesn't look like Nathan Osman has done any moderating there for years.
@AwesomePoodles SE has an unofficial policy of removing the moderator status of inactive moderators, so maybe it's time to remove Nathan's status and reassign it to Brock?
@TimStone, Thanks for approving everybody's edits. But you missed a couple from April (here and here) And it looks like those 2 would kick you over the badge threshold . (^_^)
