@ShadowWizard actually - someone scienced it in the 20s.
The science is in making sure you cooked it enough :p

ah. GOOD MORNING!
hm
network seems a bit slow today at work

@JourneymanGeek Saturday. Even networks have to rest. ;)

@JourneymanGeek hi

I finally managed again to be exactly 20 close vote reviews behind Ward. I guess flagging for a mod to have them review banned will not be appreciated?

Oh! With the right friends a lot is possible ;)

Yep :D

8:21 AM
There is some awkward silence in that room ...

It always is quite silent during weekends :P
I guess everybody there mainly uses the site when at work.

much of the network is
Wait. I'M AT WORK!
You might be on to something there

@Tinkeringbell To have to avoid awkward silences at the coffee machine?

@rene That too, and the chat users are also the ones that take on a huge chunk of the community moderation going on there.
Like huge.
Site is more busy during the week, so they're more around during those times too

8:25 AM
All the close and down voting elitists are gathered there ;)

I should be getting more rep. That or apparently my mad meta rep gain only happens when I'm unhappy with work ;)
@Tinkeringbell well, I'm not mainly here to do that ;)

@rene Yep :P
@JourneymanGeek I know. You don't even have enough reputation to be useful XD

@JourneymanGeek I should be getting more reputation too... I thought that was a given by participating in that cheese contest :D

@Tinkeringbell ah, rep cap
I've always said the second best way to get mad reputation (on meta) is consistancy

8:28 AM
@JourneymanGeek No, people don't like my crafty mouse :(

its the best way everywhere else.
aw

@JourneymanGeek Heh. I'll just participate in every contest they come up with then ;)

lol
I'm planning on that ;0

@JourneymanGeek I wish I could be more useful around here ;) But so far the best I can do is write answers to discussions and contests, the easy ones ;)

@Tinkeringbell well, I was posting a ton of answers at lunch cause I hated my job ;p
but ya, being a mod helps a little.
As does the meta knowledge

8:33 AM
I'm trying to keep up now ;)

the trick is you can't know it all ;)

8:46 AM
True. I just tried to be smart on that latest question, but I was wrong AGAIN!

+1 for being wrong AGAIN!
always supportive ...

@rene Ah nice. Well, at least the rest of the question wasn't just 'HALP'

9:11 AM
First time opening a public repo on GitHub, then suddenly a graphic designer wants to contribute a logo design...
I'm still not ready for this >_<
checks IPS.SE for tips

@Somewhat I don't think there are any (yet :P). Do you want to accept or decline? :P

I'm in conflict because the project is just a simple hobby project (i.e. just for fun), though getting a logo designed (for free) is okay too... Anyway, I've let him know about the nature of this project (hobby, just for fun) and ask him back if he still want it or not.
(dunno if that's a good idea)
(I mean, I'm okay with no logo either..)

9:33 AM
@Somewhat Then that's really the best idea :D Sounds like you did pretty good :)

Will the new website styling be available on MathOverflow any time soon? I'd like to use it even if it's opt-in, but currently it doesn't look like it's available.

1:16 PM
@b_jonas well. Someone needs to do it.
And MO is kinda in an interesting situation

Do tell

Isn't it the only SE 1.0 site left?

How's A51 doing?
The downtrodden hero among SE sites
Crucial yet forgotten
The forsaken child powering the satellite towns of this megapolis.

Any staff here that want to look into this?

Staff see all bug reports posted on MSE.
No need to bug them here.
(and pointless unless critical. :))

@ShadowWizard Yes... this wasn't posted on MSE though. It was posted on Meta.TeX.

@Werner that is already reported all over the place
at least on MSE and MSO

@rene Thanks... I'll sift through the reports and post a reference.

3:54 PM
@rene Thanks. I was looking for a reference on MSE, but searching for " - badge closed:no" yielded a bounty of things. I got about halfway and gave up.

Found it...
...in the comments.
Geez.

@Werner you're not the only one that is struggling to find those dupes
In case you need some morale boost ;)

@rene Boost applied! :D Thanks!

Q: How do I iterate over the words of a string?

Ashwin NanjappaI'm trying to iterate over the words of a string. The string can be assumed to be composed of words separated by whitespace. Note that I'm not interested in C string functions or that kind of character manipulation/access. Also, please give precedence to elegance over efficiency in your answer....

For what it's worth, that's the 5th highest voted C++ question.
Rather surprised to see a 93k user amongst the close voters (although none of that rep came from C++).

@Catija I think it's also largely due to the fact that female reproductive cycles are a lot easier to externally influence and a lot better understood in that department. AFAIK female birth control is just a hormone-mix that prevents certain processes from happening. For men I imagine it'd be a lot harder to make something that prevents efficiently and without massive secondary effects
then again the amount of development towards the former and not the latter in medicine might be influenced by your reasoning
