Ummm so dumb Australian question, what is chili? I mean I obviously know what the vegetable is, and I've seen it mentioned as in "I'm gonna make chili" but I don't actually know what that is

@JamesENL It's a spicy stew (often using chilis). The most common chilis include beans, beef or chicken, and tomato sauce. One key to chili is that no matter what you add to chili, you still end up with chili.

Ahhhh
Thank you for that

@JonEricson ._. chilliless chilli?
@JamesENL to make things more confusing, many americans call chilli, peppers.

I like Cincinnati chili, which is sweet rather than spicy.

I know they call capsicum, bell peppers which I find very confusing

@JamesENL we call Herberts herb, correctly pronouncing the "h". Flavorful leaves need their own name.

That makes sense

@JamesENL so... When, lo these many years ago, I wrote that I was "going to a chili festival" I was referring specifically to a festival celebrating the harvest of various capsicum fruits.

user202362
@Gerry Oo the university I went to was founded before yours, how lovely

So bell peppers are related to chili's

yes
Between a quart and a gallon of these roasted chilis go into a pot of chili, along with several pounds of pork and various herbs and spices. This is slow cooked for between 12 and 24 hours, and produces an intensely savory and flavorful stew that can be consumed in various ways.

same species, different cultivars IIRC

I hate anything in the least bit spicy, so I might pass. I hate pepper on my food

though there's low heat varities of what you'd identify as a chilli(pepper)

Tonight, a pot of chili is to be served with cornbread - I'm typing this while the cornbread finishes baking.

so.... SharePoint provides a rest service that based on a file name returns the icon that SharePoint uses for that file type.
problem: the extension of the specified icons is WRONG
for example... the large icon for a MSG file is lg_icmsg.gif

The rest service claims that the icon is "lg_icmsg. PNG"
the small icon instead is returned correctly.
I will use the small one and resize it via CSS....

I wonder what /_layouts/15/images/CAT.GIF looks like.

those are the SharePoint Gremlins!

Why does stackoverflow.com only show 7 pages of questions? Has it always been like that?
The active/newest tags show everything just not 'home'.

@JasonC Shog has decided to rage-quit and is currently deleting all the data in the database.

11:24 AM
So do I make a bug report or not?

@JasonC actually, 96 questions only.
Whether that's an easter egg or a bug...

Oh wait MSE only shows one page

@JasonC but that's without "new nav" (that older "new nav", not "new header")

Oh but
MSE shows one page on / but everything on /questions. Has it always been this way or not?

Only SO has a beta "new nav" that replaces both the homepage and /questions. The rest of the sites has a homepage with 1-page questions, and it's been like that since the beginning.

11:32 AM
I don't understand the relation to new nav but OK word, guess I never noticed that / was just a short list. Weird.

Considering that Sklivvz is already out, will that new-nav come out from beta...

@Elephant I know which new nav you're talking about. I use it all the time. I just don't understand why you're talking about it.

user315433
@JasonC The front page (one shown by default when navigating to the site's root) never had pagination. It's a list of N questions selected by some rules; on most sites, the rule is "most active ones, minus those scoring -4 or lower, minus historical lock"

11:39 AM
Yeah. Funny. I can't believe I never noticed that.

@Telkitty very true, and very yummy
@Bart YWiMC

@JasonC My bad, but my point is "other sites don't have new-nav", which means the front page only has 1 page.

@Elephant Ah, yeah, see, I was confused about the short list in general. Even the 1 page ones I didn't notice before, weirdly. Not so much the 7 vs 1, but the short vs. all.
It's kind of funny how many different routes there are to view the same list of questions.

user315433
Ah, but they are never the same list of questions. Subtle differences...

user315433
Even when the front page is formed by "most active", it's not the same as questions?sort=active

user315433
11:50 AM
And questions?sort=unanswered is different from the top-level Unanswered.

So many subtly different permutations of crappy questions.

Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua (Urdu: لب پہ آتی ہی دعا بن کے تمنا میری‎), also known as Bachche Ki Dua, is a 1902 Urdu poem by Allama Muhammad Iqbal. It is a (child's) prayer to God seeking benevolent qualities of character and a life lived serving humanity. It is frequently sung at primary school morning assemblies as School song in Pakistan as well as many regions of India. The most famously heard on the media, is the one that was sung by the Indian singer, Siza Roy. == Lyrics == == See also == Pakistan School Song == External links == Allama Iqbal - Lab pe aati hai dua Pakistan School Dua (pr...

@ShadowWizard I took the cat back to the hospital yesterday. The test results came back early. They did not confirm lymphoma. They weren't a definite negative either, though. And even if not lymphoma it could just be an even worse cancer. But now there is the slimmest, tiniest, rarest chance that it's not a cancer at all. Waiting for another phone call today he's spent the night in the hospital and is successfully recovering from the anemia.
It has been a 48 hour constant anxiety attack so far.

@JasonC I hope its nothing. Cats should kill anything. Even cancer. :)

@JourneymanGeek It really is and this guy's ups and downs have been extreme. It's hard to process. He was fully and miraculously recovered from the previous issue, and then bad luck, this new thing is totally out of the blue.

@Sklivvz interesting read. One thing I dislike about the current project I'm working on, is that a lot of unit tests require you to stub 5 to 10 I...Queries constructor dependencies, so it feels like the tests end up being tightly coupled to the implementation.

@JourneymanGeek not sure how to repro

@ShadowWizard Heh. Well, I don't have kids, and I don't like humans. I have only my cats. It's worth it, I'd spend it again.

@JasonC yup, you are free to choose what you spend your time, money, and love on. :)

@Elephant yeah, that's a known bug

@JasonC I'm totally not going to judge someone caring about a companion animal ;p

He's a very interesting cat. Something about his personality evokes a lot of empathy from humans. He's famous among my friends, the vets love having him around. My other cat, she's just a normal cat and a jerk, lol (not that I wouldn't give her the same treatment).

@JasonC what guy?

2:36 PM
By "this guy" I meant Vinnie, the cat.

lol
@JasonC so a cat version of my dog ;p

Pretty much, lol
He comes when you call him and plays fetch, too.

(My dog is moderately locally famous, cause he's adorable, and we talk to him in tamil, so no one knows when he can't be bothered to listen to us ;p)

How old is Vinnie?

2:42 PM
15; that's the thing, he's getting up there. On the other hand his breed usually lives 20-23 years. And he is in perfect condition otherwise. (Normally) as active as a 7-8 year old cat, no diabetes, perfect liver, perfect kidneys. But, cancer. If it wasn't for that he's got none of the other aging issues yet.
I just want him to be 20. Then I think he'll have lived a good, long life.
But even more than that, no matter how old he is, I can't deal with the possibility that he could've been saved but I didn't try. If this is the end for him I just need to make sure I've exhausted all options.
Then the best I can do is keep him comfortable.
So until I see positive labwork confirming untreatable cancer, I'm not losing hope.

@ShadowWizard it is nice poem and I think it should be spreader?

That's from when he was healthy

Seriously I learned " aww" word from internet.

You never said "awww" in real life? You monster!
I've had him since he was born. His mother was a stray. She used to randomly jump in my car to say hi.

2:52 PM
@JasonC i din't knew how to express,wait,there wasn't any situation :)

Then she got pregnant. I kept 3 of the kittens. In college I had to give two away. One of them, his sister, this beautiful little girl with a weird natural mohawk, Pinky, I had given to a friend, whose brother subsequently drowned her. And he lied to me for 3 years when I asked how she was doing.
The other, Julius, an orange tabby, who used to love to sit on my subwoofer when I was playing music, found a good home, but then I found out later they gave him to the humane society because the owner was allergic.
There's a lot of regret on both accounts.

Yeah there's a lot of feral cats around here. Not as much as where I grew up but still a lot. My other cat, Cake, would've ended up on the street, I found her hanging out by some garbage cans at about 3 weeks old.
