I gather from Kevin's tweets that docs rep increments will depend on a random number generator, RPG style.

Shog's comment on a withdrawn nomination at ELU... hm.

user315433
No trace linking the comment to nomination that I can see.

user315433
I see, the lack of a link doesn't mean anything for nomination. The other comment was on a withdrawn one, so I extrapolated incorrectly.

Well, choster's record is a bit weaker: 476 edits, 327 downvotes, less meta involvement than others. So at the moment the choice seems clear.

user315433
Sorry for the late comment, but this came up in a mod discussion @Pilot6: be careful with "experiments"; it's easy to draw the wrong conclusions from a too-small sample size. We've got some folks running flagging experiments (on SO and elsewhere) right now to train content classifiers, and they involve hundreds to thousands of flags before attaining much in the way of accuracy. Ideally, if you're gonna experiment then you'll be open and rigorous about it - document what you're doing up-front, keep detailed records. Example: meta.stackoverflow.com/q/280546Shog9 ♦ 7 hours ago

I think there are no community moderator on MSE at present and the moderators are by SE staff (i.e employee and developer). And I think SE is currently unsure whether an election for community moderator will be carried out or not.

Q: Why aren't there moderator elections on Meta.SE?

user839475Why aren't there moderator elections here on Meta.SE? It seems to be moderated only by employees. I know that there aren't elections because here it shows no election history. Is there a reason for this? Should there be elections here?

Well, think SE is right. No real need for MSE moderators.

Now with quite a few gold hammers around, it's easy to close duplicates fast. Only problem is off topic stuff that needs 5 close votes then 3 delete votes to be nuked.

@Pandya I know. There are indeed no moderators, hence no election. Isn't that what you asked?

@ShadowWizard yes. In addition I want to say, MSE should specify it at meta.stackexchange.com/election how about ?

I like it when users list an example of a "question that should be allowed" or "should have remained open". Whenever you point out why that question isn't a good fit, the response is always "yeah, well, it's not about this specific example, but bout the many others"

"But this will raise a TypeError if b is a complex number". And what is the likelihood of someone mistaking a complex number and an integer? — stackoverflowuser2010 51 mins ago
@stackoverflowuser2010 The likelihood that someone is using Python 2 and complex numbers does not matter. What matters to me is that if people rely on my answers, that my answers do not fail them. Trust is hard to earn, and easily lost. I do appreciate any suggestions that improve or refine the contents of my answers, so if you have any to make, please do so. — Aaron Hall 8 mins ago

8:43 PM
Ah, here we go:
@AaronHall: Using complex numbers is probably rare, depending on your field of work. And despite this rarity, you say that the last approach is "Not recommended" because of this rare complex number issue. As a result, I don't trust your judgement in understanding the question nor providing a suitable answer. — stackoverflowuser2010 21 mins ago
