Fortunately, this information is stored in a clean, indexed table, so I can pull this information in about 5 minutes flag. Ha-ha, no, of course it's all in a big character-separated property bag so figuring it out will take hours plus blood sacrifice. Probably not gonna get to it today. — Shog9 ♦ 2 hours ago

Ok, must admit that I am a bit bored these a few days and I am in a destructive down spiral

12:37 AM
I'm always bored...

user202362
I am not bored when I have a lot of interesting things to do, but these a few days I am waiting on 2-3 things and I can't proceed until they are completed.

Close is an interesting case, because arguably the creation of close flags created a lot of the moderation issues we've been dealing with for the past few years, @Servy. Traditionally, there was neither a "queue" for votes nor an expectation that they'd be "handled" - your vote was effective if other voters reacted in kind to the post within a relatively short time period, otherwise it was just, like, your opinion, man. Flags came with expectations though, and close flags created expectations for voting. Trying to sort this out has been interesting. — Shog9 ♦ Apr 25 at 20:14

user315433
Interesting point, but with the current aging process this seems to be sorted out.

user315433
It's natural to expect that most closeflags and closevotes will age away because nobody cares.

user315433
I recall there was some concern about users being able to flag/vote again if their earlier attempt was unsuccessful.

user315433
In practice, hasn't been an issue afaik.

@AndrewT. do non-serious moderation then. Randomly ban and laugh about it. Suspend outstanding users. Just to take the edge off

@Unihedron The URI doesn't have anything to do with the file type. The file type is decided by the mime sent by the server. Because of this, foo.png may be a gif.
But animated pngs are a thing.

Q: Let's experiment with town-hall-style chat events

We pretty squarely give credit to all of you for some of the best featu...

@bjb568 How is one supposed to "see" this, especially on a static plot that can't even be rotated?

user315433
It's not that hard to see that two concentric ellipses are never linked. But the second part, about all three together...

@Meta Just see it.

Q: Notify users when their [approved suggested] edit is rolled back

Lightness Races in OrbitI'm currently going through a particular user's suggested edits, most of which have been accepted by nincompoops, and which do only silly things like code-formatting arbitrary phrases and adding thanks. I'm encountering one or two instances in which someone's beaten me to it, but it occurs to me...

That could actually help with all the editing sprees SO has been suffering lately.

Q: Adding up chat rooms to the main site

ShubhankThe main site seems to have the chat rooms visible in the side bar as can be seen in the message How are the chat rooms decided to appear. There are other quality chat rooms that can be promoted so that there is a active community on chat as well but i dont seem to find any info on it.

user315433

@Shubhank The two most recently active at the time of page refresh.

i am pretty sure its only lounge C++, python , JS and PHP room in there

they are active but if theycould you know sponsor other rooms for few days. we will have a pretty wide chat community

@AndrewT. Done. Pinned it.

user315433
@Shubhank I'm sure nobody is "sponsoring" any chat rooms, or deciding which one will show up. It's a straightforward algorithm, like the list of questions.

you cant be sure :P

user315433
Well, at least I can downvote the post. :)

i can get it upvoted :P

@bjb568 How can I tweak my "unthumbnail non-gif links in star box" userscript to ignore a mime of gif?

I don't think that's spam, but it's a poor question.
@Unihedron As trainwrecks go that was a mild one.

... There are entertaining things that aren't crashing and burning, you know.

Well, there's a reason I didn't post a link. No point in making it worse than necessary.
After all, you can always count on MSO and MSE to downvote these things into oblivion, without help.
