@Meta what's happening?

@Undo giant vote rings - see TL.

@hichris123 Well, I was just thinking about that today! Upvoted it.

oh, yeah

Why one would go from a 30 day suspension down to a 7 day suspension, for the same repeated offense, is beyond me.

9:06 PM
Umm... What did I just do?

You've just wasted another hour... oh, not yet.

@Undo How is VLQ a problem for SO mods? It's not available for questions. For answers, it's available only if the score <=0. And those can be deleted by VLRQ if they are indeed low quality; mod intervention is not needed.

@Meta It's available for questions w/ score <= 0

What's Town Hall?

^ this is why it's a problem

9:13 PM
@Zizouz212 Where we'll talk about Real Problems™ with Stack Exchange staff and have a personal and inviting conversation.

user315433
I see, for old ones. Maybe it shouldn't be available for questions, then.

I've noticed more and more NAA/VLQ flags on wrong answers. :/ stackoverflow.com/review/low-quality-posts/12183932

Oh. I saw it, and I was confused. And then I was confused as to why it brought me here :P

morning

user315433
@hichris123 It could be automatic. I think downvotes on old answers hovering around 0 score can cause that.

user315433
9:18 PM
Source: after downvoting old answers from 1 to 0 for roomba purposes, I sometimes see them in LQRQ.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. But no downvotes today: stackoverflow.com/posts/7652573/timeline

user315433
Then it's David Hoelzer's fault...

This fits with a topic I was going to propose. Perhaps we can discuss how the SE Quality Project (meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/se-quality-project) and (meta.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/se-quality-project) are proceeding. Are there new changes coming either in terms of policy or technology to assist with some of the quality related "problems" — Andy 20 mins ago

user315433
I'm pretty sure SEQP was finished long time ago; looking for a reference.

@Meta Currently, 222/371 of these are questions. So that might do some good.
I still question whether it's even necessary on answers, though

user315433
The reason I thought there were not available is that there are no questions in LQRQ on SO (except audits). Who's supposed to review them, Triage or mods?

@Meta As I understand it, mods are the only way these flags get handled on questions
First-post reviews don't seem to handle them

user315433
I think Triage was supposed to do that.

9:42 PM
Although the VLQ flags seem to be triggering Triage reviews
... but not in all cases
(going through and looking at timelines)

user315433
SO mod ^

yeah, now just imagine a bunch of dogs doing that
I have no idea how VLQ flags even work.

Duct Tape and the tears of developers

user315433
I know VLQ is not available for questions being triaged or currently in close review. I think it makes no sense to have VLQ on old questions, either. If they sat on the site for a while without anyone noticing, deleting them probably isn't an urgent matter.

9:48 PM
@Meta I don't see why we need VLQ on questions at all; why won't the normal close flags work?
those at least kick them directly into the CV queue, where something can actually be done

@Undo Just so you know, I started looking at this problem this week and hopefully will have some sort of solution soonish
the problem being VLQ flags on questions hanging out in the mod queue

SOONISH!
(soonish >= 6-8 weeks)

10:09 PM
Awesome ;)

user315433
10:38 PM
Hi @Jaydles, could you can confirm/refute that "SE quality project" is finished?

user315433
I don't remember anyone saying "this is done now", it's just that people stopped talking about it.

user315433
11:03 PM
I'm putting a status-review on this so that I'm certain to keep noticing it in the weeks coming up as the 'official' quality initiative winds down in scope (we'll have done everything we set out to do for that round). We have additional just-in-time help capabilities that we haven't really advertised yet, and I want to circle back and identify 3 chronically problematic tags on at least 3 sites for a test case. I'll comment again when we get nearer to that point. — Tim Post ♦ Apr 30 '15 at 5:14

user315433
Okay, found something like a confirmation with Data Explorer comment search.

11:17 PM
Is that a piggy bank in a fish tank?

maybe it's an airconditioner

user315433
It's a piggy bank hidden in a toilet tank.

so I shouldn't put my money in a toilet tank. Gotcha.
I'd think most programmers could figure that out, though
Although... looking at /questions, maybe not

It might be effective for safety. Who would think to look for money in a toilet tank?

that said, if I were a burglar... I don't think I'd ever look for mo... yeah
darnit doorknob. Too fast.
@Doorknob this might be a good idea - why couldn't one put valuables in a tupperware container fastened to the lid?
Water in a toilet tank is theoretically clean anyway, so that's not a problem

11:22 PM
Perfect, now I'll know exactly where to go when I rob @Undo's house. :P

I store my money in a washing machine, money laundering goes well with cottons

@Doorknob fair warning; my valuables might include an air horn, or spring-loaded rubber snake, or something otherwise evil

user315433
@ShadowWizard: Probably not. Chat events really don't scale well. For the purposes of this pilot test, I personally am more interested in attracting the right people than in attracting many people. Maybe next time. — Jon Ericson ♦ 1 hour ago

user315433
Right people: those who know SE, want to do something about it, and are not yet burned out.

Wasn't there a townhall style room on SE Chat

The Assembly, yes. It's pretty much dead all random all the time.

You can't call it dead until random leaves.
And Seth...

Haven't really seen any users say they're under 13 without it being a yank to get you to feel sorry for them being unable to read words not in txtspk
haha

@Quill I've seen a few

user315433
Is the icon on Developer CV next to top tags supposed to be Stack Exchange icon?

user315433

user315433
11:34 PM
^ I mean these. The tooltip text says "Stack Overflow".

Doesn't look right

user315433
It was reported, and supposedly fixed: Stack Exchange Logo on Stack Overflow CV instead of Stack Overflow Logo. Status-caching

@Meta I see that even with a hard refresh. Maybe it was [status-unfixed].

user315433
Also tried hard refresh, same thing. Pinged Steve Trout.
