I have 194, though admittedly most are trivial.

@hichris123 nice :D

231 here. Most are crap.

Is the edits on the /users editors page every edit whereas the profile page is unique post edits
I have 800 on my profile, but 1100 on the /users editors page

user315433
12:12 AM
Confusingly, the profile box stats links to /revisions tab, which presents a third number.

user315433
When I see the words "N edits", and they are hyperlinked, I kind of expect the link to bring up a list of N items.

A: Posts edited count on profile is way less than my revsions count?

MarshmallowUnder /revisions you see every entry of PostHistory table that you contributed: that is, every action that resulted in a new version of some post. But the count of edits (used for issuing badges and for the profile display) does not include retags or edits to own questions; it also counts mul...

That's what I thought
I was working on a native chat app for se/mse/so, but ditched it becuz technical reasons. It would really come in handy, every time I switch tabs chrome reloads the page ;-;

user315433
@Quill But this does not explain the difference between profile box stats (next to pencil) and the list of editors.

So, Unicode has a block miscellaneous symbols... this surprised me, as a block is only 256 characters. What do they do with symbols that don't fit in "miscellaneous"?

Q: Recovering from a rm -rf /

Marco MarsalaI run a small hosting provider with more or less 1535 customers and I use Ansible to automate some operations to be run on all servers. Last night I accidentally ran, on all servers, a Bash script with a rm -rf {foo}/{bar} with those variables undefined due to a bug in the code above this line. ...

I don't see anything wrong with either revision. (As someone not mentioned in that table)

@rene yeah, you got yourself into a situation there... question is how he came to see that? :)
Anyway, you could just say "heaviest downvoter", this just describes the fact - but all good, I'm pretty sure Eric didn't really get upset about it.

6:12 PM
@ShadowWizard maybe he googles for "Lippert worst"
@ShadowWizard I can always blame the question. They ask for downvote/upvote ratio, I only provide that. I wrote that answer because I didn't like that they pointed out a single user. It was a bit fortunate that a relative famous user popped up on top of that query, which I used to my advantage, at least that is what I thought I did ...

6:27 PM
@ShadowWizard Also, saying "heaviest" on the basis of ratio isn't really meaningful. If he upvotes two posts today, the ratio will drop by a lot, although nothing of importance has changed. The heaviest downvoters are folks like Peter Mortensen, Quentin and CRABOLO...

6:44 PM
that is also true. I was thinking to maybe add an absolute downvoters rank as well

Why should I care about performance for code that is not even remotely critical, nor anywhere near production? Why should I be concerned that dict(x, **y) fails on non-string keys if I know for a fact that all of my keys will be strings? — Ethan Reesor 1 hour ago
Is the accepted wisdom to just not respond to comments with that kind of an attitude?

@Shog9 Are you searching for quality yogurt or something?
@AaronHall yeah probably. If you are able to respond without being snarky, then it might be okay. But otherwise...

I don't think I was snarky, but I was rather direct.

user315433
I prefer not to respond to comments in general. Especially of "I still don't understand, please blah blah blah" kind.

Responding to heckling from the peanut gallery is probably not a good use of my time.

oh that'll look good on my résumé! /s

At nearly end-of-day reviewing... LQP is up after an early morning low.
In the world of bad naming... we now have should (technically it's should.js, but that's not too much better).

What's the point of the thousands of unit test frameworks? Node and most other languages/environments already have assert() or an equivalent built in.

People are lazy.

So I can run tests in parallel, or so I can run the tests that read a database after (and only if) the tests that fill it up, or so I can get output in a machine-readable form to find which tests fail most often. The parts of frameworks that are just different phrasings of assert are kind of silly, I agree.
