@AlexisKing I'm only in the beginning phase of being absorbed by the game. I still have to learn about and set up robot networks

I'm pretty sure somebody just asked how to walk on LH.

... my joke failed, nvm :(

@JasonC Yeah, that was what made my vomit in my mouth a little bit.
@JamesENL I have beaten the game on pretty easy settings, but I’m currently trying to make bigger and badder factories before I try harder settings or mods. I enjoy the optimization aspects of the game. :D

I posted an answer I hope it helps.

6:27 AM
@JasonC I forgot you have nice username on there.

@JamesENL Here’s what I have so far. Bots make the game almost too easy, though they are certainly very nice. I almost feel like they should be nerfed, though.
@JasonC With such stellar answers such as these, how are you not banned appointed moderator yet?

user315433
He was, the former thing.

@AlexisKing I am speechless. That's so organised. Mine is just a massive mess of belts and grabbers
Totally stealing that layout for oil refineries though

I think I should buy and play Factorio.

@JamesENL Yeah, this is the second large-scale factory I’ve built, and I learned a whole lot from the first one.
@AndrewT. Don’t do it if you value your time. Fortunately, I don’t, so it is absolutely fantastic.
I have basically been searching for this game for three years but I didn’t know it existed until the Steam release.

6:33 AM
I've been playing (Open)TransportTycoonDeluxe before, it looks... similar.

And this is coming from a person who hasn’t bought a game (besides Factorio) in probably about 2 years.

@AndrewT. That's also an amazing game, Factorio turns that up to 11

I haven’t played OTTD, but apparently Factorio’s trains system takes some cues from that, though it is a little less advanced. The other parts of the game are obviously a lot more complex, though.
Also the game is pretty easy without mods, but the game is super easy to mod, and there are apparently a ton of mods that make the game way more intense and expand the tech tree a lot.

@AlexisKing Where's your power generation? Is that out of shot?
@AlexisKing EXPAND THE TECH TREE? WHAT!? It's already huge!

@JamesENL Yeah, I have a huge solar/accumulator array up to the north.

6:35 AM
@404 Oh yeah I forgot that happened.

Haha, it took me a really long time to get through the tech tree on my first playthrough, but on my second I realized it’s actually not very big.

I'm also playing on peaceful mode because this is just my first factory

I think I said "Welcome to Lifehacks" to too many site mods.

@JasonC Bahahaha.
I actually laughed at that.

Factorio

6:36 AM
@JamesENL Ah, yeah, I’ve been playing on non-peaceful but with low enemy spawn rate.

Oh man it looks like I can get lost in this one

I cannot stress enough that this is a perfect game.
It’s technically early access but seriously I would be ok with this if it were the final release, never to be updated again. And yet they keep adding more content!
Also the Factorio trailer is awesome. :D

I literally can't link the trailer without watching it again and giggling

I know, right? :3
The music is what sells it, really

Absolutely
The only unrealistic bit is that they only have 10 labs running

6:42 AM
Well, and they don’t have the ALT view turned on. ;)

yes that too
Also, tutorial levels teaching how to use the logic systems would be nice
I think I understand how it works but I haven't yet had time to try my idea out

Yeah... I found the game pretty easy to figure out after just playing the tutorial and reading a couple wiki pages when I got stumped.
I’ve also been watching Root Negative’s “Factorio Beginner’s Guide” series that he’s been putting out, which is awesome. I’ve been consistently ahead of where he is, since he only puts out a 20 minute episode per day, but he’s been playing the game for a long time, so he’s helped me realize how to do things much more nicely. Keeps the spaghetti down.

@AlexisKing google's Root Negative

i think you know the answer already

@JamesENL Haha wow

How do I do a thing without doing that thing
@AndrewT. I'd go for scores under +10, really.
Or all of them.
Lol, "How to roast a chicken in a hotel room". What?
That's the other screwed up thing about the mods on that site. Most of those questions -3 have no CVs. Most CVs fade out. There's not enough people casting close votes.
But on all other new sites responsible mods take up the slack. On LH, they do nothing. They've either completely checked out or... I don't know.
Like when you see a comment that says "This does not seem to be a lifehack" (which is a close reason), and the comment has 4 or 5 votes but the question has no CVs, your site has a problem. (@Shog9 Another point to add in my complaints about the moderation there.)
