A: How can I delete my account?

Jeff AtwoodThe Help Center explains that there are two cases: If your account has never voted and has posted at most once, you should see a self-delete option on your user page under "Edit Profile & Settings": On some sites, it may look different: If your account has posted more than once, or voted...

Q: Where can I ask about Software Licenses/Licensing?

Tamer ShlashIs it appropriate to ask questions about software licenses/licensing on StackOverflow? Or is the appropriate place Programmers Stack Exchange? Or is there no appropriate site currently and we should suggest such a site on Area51?

@Bart thank, maybe I could try "Programmers".
I just wanna know if there are legal implication in using ILMerge to merge a third party assembly in your application DLL

Depends on the license of the third party assembly I'd say

10:58 AM
@Bart Well, that is a fixed point. But I am not sure if "merging" could be considered a modification of the original work in the first place.
Take ILMerge for example: you can only merge signed libraries into you main one.
This makes me think that internally ILMerge really "embeds" the library into the container one and just creates a local "address map" of the contained object without actually modifying the original dll content.
In that way, the external library would be granted to be the same, just "invisible" from the outside (IE: you don't have a separate file).
As you can tell, I really don't know, and I can't seem to find any reference to this online
all sites just talk about dll merging and embedding without ever taking the license aspects in account.
I have now tried and asked the guys in the Whiteboard chat room if such question would be OT for their site, let's see if anyone replies.

11:21 AM
Okay. Depending on the license I'd say that there should be no issue.

@Pekka웃 We're not sure about the SE bar, right now you can reach the list of communities and stuff by clicking on the SE icon to the right. Also not pictured is the 10k / mod icons and stuff. Right now we're just confirming some assumptions regarding how it will better distribute the anon traffic across the various parts of the site. If we get that right, then everything else can fall into place. If the test fails, then there's little sense in working on this concept much more. — Tim Post ♦ 54 mins ago

I've noticed that moderators are often very insulting.

This issue seems to be covered here: http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/91193/335945 [ Should moderators leave sarcastic answers or comments? ]

user315433
When people complain about "Stack Overflow moderators", do they actually mean these 19 people or whoever talked to them with an air of authority?

@zaq most of the time it is not diamond mods

(HizHa, here -- I'm talking about SE sites.) --- In some SE sites, the moderators are encouraging or even leading harassment, bullying, hazing, etc.

Could someone give me a link or two that's more closely related to this problem than the following link? Thank you.

http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/28867/335945 [What recourse do I have if I believe a moderator has abused his/her privileges?]

user315433
@HizHa The usual way of formatting links is [text](http...)

@zaq On most sites of the internet, any form of moderation action is only undertaken by moderators. Thus people assume "Anyone that closes my question or edits it" = Moderator.
Very rarely do they mean diamond mods.

user315433
9:23 PM
Generally, if you see a moderator encouraging such nasty things, begin by taking a screenshot and posting it on meta, seeing an explanation. There is also an option to complain directly to the team, via contact us link at the bottom of every page.

@HizHa I would doubt that they are. But if you want to take this higher you should contact the team directly with your inquiry/complaint
Meta also works but be prepared to provide some pretty solid evidence before making accusations

user315433
But the first step should be getting the terms right - who is a moderator and who's not; what is harassment and what's not.

^ Yeah
before opening a meta post you should probably re-examine what you see as harassment

( I have strong opinions and preferences about formatting, indentation, etc. -- It seems pretty stupid that chat GUI truncates the full URL as [meta.stackexchange.com/q/… ] making it impossible to simply Copy & Paste. )

Thank you for any help about my questions. I'll check back later today.

user315433
E.g. if downvoting a question and leaving a comment pointing out its flaws counts for you as bullying, we're not on the same page.

9:32 PM
By (online) "harassment, bullying, hazing, etc." -- I'm using these terms as they are usually used in newspaper articles, etc.

Online harassment, bullying, hazing, etc. have led to teenagers committing suicide.

But I think SE is better in the sense that most of us are pretty anonymous. -- So teenagers won't take the harassment, bullying, hazing, etc. as seriously.

@HizHa I'm curious, can you link to what you percieve as "encouraging harassment"?
I've been here more then a year and I have never seen anyone come even close to doing that on here. Much less a moderator.
