@bjb568 In all seriousness, there are stupid laws on the books about 'unauthorized access of a computer network' and other such overly broad things. People have been fined and thrown in jail for things as stupid as accessing PDFs that were search-indexible, but only linked to from within a login wall. Remember, most judges are stupid when it comes to this stuff.

@Oded: it seems you reenabled Chinese language on Travel, and now Travel is hit with lots of Chinese-language spam questions again. The pattern I've seen the last couple days is questions posted with tons of Chinese text and a bit of English which is the name of a well-known university (not the same one each time). I think we should revisit the enablement of Chinese on Travel, at least in titles or when it occupies over 50% of the question text. I translated (using Google) one of the spam posts, and it seems to be a service advertising fake US diplomas and gives a Tencent/QQ contact number. — John Zwinck 30 mins ago

I know that a close flag is dismissed as helpful if someone casts a close vote with the same reason. But what if the flag is "blatantly off-topic"? There is no matching close reason for that, it's replaced in the UI with free form reason.

@Normal when I've flagged anything for a close reason it's always been marked helpful even if closed for a different reason, and sometimes it's been closed within seconds by a mod so doubt anyone else would have got in with a matching reason

@NormalHuman if the question is closed, all close flags are immediately dismissed as helpful regardless of type (along with a bunch of other flags)
Otherwise, flags are marked helpful on the first matching close-vote type - however, I'm pretty sure that doesn't match subtype
So any OT vote would mark helpful all OT flags
