I am Luna

> In those days the world was flat and demons dwelled beneath who walked among the cities and kingdoms of the surface with powers and mischiefs to please themselves. Among those demons there were two who were mighty above all others. One was Azhrarn, James, Night’s Master, and the other was the lord of darkness whose name was Uhlume, Death’s Master.

@NormalHuman can you use wildcards there?

Flagging is just a way to make something someone else’s problem.
4

user259867
@Braiam No idea; how you imagine using them?

user259867
Unless it's spam/abusive flagging and there are 6.

instead of trying to match every equivalent of "a", like ⓐ, á, etc. you just say *latin letter a*?
that would make regex matching pretty neat

1:44 AM
@NormalHuman Or the omnipotent secret comment flags.

Q: What is the SE version of Seven Dirty Words?

Normal HumanCaution: R-rated language Some words, when present in a comment, make it eligible for instant, automatic one-flag deletion. Out of the seven words you can never say on television, only appear to work this way. But then there are other, SE-specific dirty phrases: accept rate acceptance rat...

user259867
@Braiam One can try to do "normalize" strings using character names, like in this answer. But would a regex library have tools for matching based on patterns of character names, I've no idea.

This can be done.

@NormalHuman I think it could be done

You have to download confusables.txt from the Unicode Consortium.
And roll your own.

user259867
Sounds like a movie title. The Confusables.
2

1:57 AM
It's not confusables.txt. I always have a hard time finding this, but it's linked-to from there.
Cool, eh?

user259867
Yes, but Braiam was asking about something different: can one match any "a"-like character, which would include ⓐ and á?

Yes, I know.
You could build that using the table I reference.

user259867
So I guess it's not something that's done often. SE generates URL slugs by de-accenting question titles, though in a pretty simple way.

I imagine they do an NFD transform and throw out the marks.
That won't work with lots of stuff.
> Ævar Arnfjørð Bjarmason
I bet they don't convert the ash to ae or the eth to d.
They probably don't even convert ø to o, since it doesn't decompose to something with a mark.

@tchrist No for drugs transform?

@NormalHuman How come smokey didn't find that on his own?

user259867
@durron597 I suppose it was waiting for API queue to fill (5 posts). There is also a slight chance of a post getting through unexamined if the realtime tab decides to sample few SO posts for some reason.

user259867
The latter shouldn't really happen. Smokey waits until 5 questions appear on realtime tab, and then requests 50 most recently active questions, with all their answers.

user259867
So, unless the sampling rate drops below 10%, every post is seen. It just might take a while when the site activity is slow.

You mean the moderator conflict of interest? No...
In fact, for the Security SE mod election I asked the question, "do you have previous experience as a moderator, either on SE or on a security forum?"

@inɒzɘmɒЯ.A.M I can't see why there would be. If they tried to pull users away it would be visible to all in comments and moderator access to private e-mail addresses is monitored, so they couldn't really do anything a regular user couldn't do.

Maybe we need a few example scenarios of a conflict of interest.
Drawing users to one's own site would be one, but then IMO the mod is acting in bad faith.

Watch this:
It's same here, being an Indian. We understand each other that way. haha. Also, i recommend a Google plus page managed by me. plus.google.com/communities/107585603389633910293 I recommend it. — Maulik V Jun 5 at 6:38
Oh!
Is this allowed?

Hm.... there doesn't seem to be a pattern, just once a comment.
But I think it would be best to ask this from the mod candidate in the questionnaire or chatroom.

K.

"You're also running a site of your own, do you think there is a conflict of interest?"
It's only natural for a moderator to be very interested in the subject of the site. And consequently to have their own blogs or websites about it.

I know.
Right.
