SO is a bottomless offal-bucket, and nobody gives a flaj. The overwhelming majority of SO posts read like so many random splutterings of some palsied and hydrocephalic cretin. All those posts require highly nontrivial rewrites to edit them into a condition that that looks as though they’ve been posted by an educated adult instead of by a rude and unlettered imbecile. Often the gap is simply too great.
The SO community obviously expects and accepts posts meeting the standards of bathroom graffiti scribbled in crayon by people with only three weeks’ experience in English. You’ll never change that: the inertia is too great to overcome.
You and twenty of your best friends could spend 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, editing those crappy posts and you would still only be pissing in the wind.
