Visual studio just decided to go mad on source integration for a solution. Sometime you open it and VS fails to see it at bound to tfs, sometimes you do a checkin and it fails silently with no feedback, source control explorer shows some file as not downloaded even after a get specific version with overwrite...
asked if some of my coworker where experiencing the same (just got on the project) and they told me it was that way right from the start.
.... I am left with one question now...
Why continue on this broken stuff instead of fixing it when it started misbehaving ??

@Arrowfar Have you brought it up on ELL's meta?

user276632
7:59 PM
@Andy No because everyone in the chat room might turn against me. Or should I? I mean I can make a meta post.

Yes. It's an ELL problem right now. It should be discussed there first.

user276632
@Andy I see. Can Shog9 solve this I mean I have also emailed the SE team about this but no response.

user276632
I emailed them two weeks ago.

Solve how? Do you expect a CM to barge in and grant you access to a Gallery room? Do you expend them to make it public for all? If they do that for you on ELL, do they need to do it for all rooms across the network?
You need to start the discussion with the ELL community first. Let the community and moderators have a say

user276632
I see. I talked with the most frequent mod in the ELL chats (snailboat) and she said she is done moderating chats.

8:04 PM
That sounds like another issue to raise on Meta then.

user276632
okay. I'll make a questions there then. What should I write like Damkerng is letting everyone in except me?

That's... not true at all.

Personally, I'd not call any one out by name - they get much more defensive. You are looking for something to occur. Either everyone can chat or the room is closed or they all buy you a beer or something. Make the post about that and why. Remember, they have a reason for setting it as a view only room (you can still read what's said). It probably wasn't so that you couldn't speak.

user276632
I am all ears. To cut it short I can't participate in the on going discussions in the ELL room where we see the most population (active) and it is offensive you know.

Don't jump to "offensive". Not being allowed to speak in a chat room isn't offensive. Offensive is reserved for bigoted remarks or similar.

8:10 PM
hallo

There are rooms that are read only all over the network. I see 5 in the most active SO chat right now: chat.stackoverflow.com

@bjb568 Johnny Appleseed joined Apple?

@Arrowfar Regarding the part about letting everyone in but you, that is not true. It is a read only room. Everyone can see what is being said. You also aren't the only person that can not speak. There are others that have requested additional permissions but not yet been granted those permissions.

user276632
I see.

user276632
okay I'll leave tavern. Sorry.

@Arrowfar There's an ignore feature.

user276632
@Doorknob okay.

@Arrowfar Then chose a room to chat in that he is not in, plain and simple. If you don't like someone, you can't make them leave their own room
That would be like me walking into your house and telling you to get out because I don't like the way you talk to me while I'm there
Or bickering and arguing with you in your home because I don't like the way you talk to me while Im there. Best to just leave and find somewhere else to hang out in that case.

user276632
8:35 PM
@TinyGiant I basically joined SE for English language and I mostly hang around "ELL and ELU" rooms. He is in all of them. I'll ignore him I guess.

There are thousands of chatrooms on the Stack Exchange network, plenty of places to chat. Just because a chatroom has a name that is similar to something else does not mean that it is officially associated with that thing. We had this discussion sometime last week about the python room. Hell, make your own room and invite other people to join. That is what ended up happening in the aforementioned case.
