@Unihedro Sure thing. :)
FYI, you now have Yam to play with, so just start up Yam then Pham.

In the interest of learning and how others do things, what do people think of this: meta.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/38537 - The edit does improve the answer, made it more structured and readable etc. But I rejected as it's completely changed the writing style of the answerer and taken the personality out of it.

@James I would have approved it (on sites where I could). It makes it significantly easier to read and the personal style parts are mainly fluff that didn't add to the answer really, as opposed to some edits that just seem to change it for the sake of it.

@bummi, never thought to look when Delphi 1 was released but was 1995 same year as when the first of my project files is dated. Probably explains why I was actually able to sell a few copies of components that did relatively simple things like access CSV files like a table.

But here on Stack Overflow, professionalism stops all of it from happening.
@Uni You say that now, then AstroCB pushes hard for filter criteria reform, bjb ends up staying in the race, and wins in an upset by a landslide because he's the only one whose name anybody remembered from all the drama.

@JasonC ... wait, bjb is winning?

in Stack Overflow 2015 Moderator Election Chat on Stack Overflow Chat, 32 mins ago, by Unihedro
Contrary to real life elections, real candidates in elections try very hard for publicity stunts; picking on each candidate, et cetera.

@meagar hurray for drama :D

... Said the 14 year old me :p
Adult meagar wonders why we can't all just get along.

2:16 PM
@meagar what's the fun in that?

Working at a start-up has ground the fun out of me

The world is a lot more interesting if friendly competition carries on.

@meagar You are creating a problem for me this election cycle.

@meagar Haha, I think 14 year old me was the one who wondered why we can't just all get along. The adult me just thinks it's hilarious.

@meagar There are too many good excellent outstanding candidates.

2:17 PM
I think you know that working has left you a truly joyless adult when you come to Stack Overflow to edit low-quality posts for your "fun" time :p

I wish I had more than 3 votes. sigh.

@LynnCrumbling unlimited votes in primary :)
But in secondary... :(

@Unihedro I know all of the users that I'm voting for will make it through the primary with no issues.. that is the problem :-/

Let's vote for everybody, then we can all suspend one another! JOY AND GAMES BEHOLD!

@JasonC heh!

@meagar Ok... time to ask serious questions. If elected mod, will you make regular appearances in the tavern?

of course we can't with those republicans around!
Or antideletionists or whatever you like

@PeterJ The real money is in reddit accounts that haven't pushed the button.

@meagar I pressed it already.

@meagar GOOD answer :)

2:23 PM
@LynnCrumbling You missed my earlier election pledge; TLDR I work, and at work I find it really distracting to have chat open, but if elected mod I will do so anyways :p

@meagar nice.

Oh damn.

@JasonC I am a web developer. Which is like... more or less as hard as neurosurgery.

@meagar But web development doesn't quite make for as good of a story as neurosurgery when you get distracted by SE chat while doing it.

^ Yes.

Today I learned that people still use WinZip.

People still use Windows Explorer.

Pff, WinRar > *

Isn't that for Windows?
Do people still use Windows?

Yes?

2:39 PM
Hadn't used Flickr for ages but still noticed they have my photos, they support nice high res ones like this I took of my wife's dog: flickr.com/photos/peter-tasmania/5311148129/in/…

@PeterJ link goes to the front page of flickr

Someone sent me a ".zipx" file, and I couldn't decompress it with 7-zip, or the default compression tool on Win 7. I was like, "what is this?" And he said "oh, that's from WinZip 14, here I resaved it as a legacy zip file."
6

@PeterJ ... nice pic

@PeterJ Awesome.

@jadarnel27 stab them in the face

2:41 PM
@PeterJ "my wife's dog"
Really distancing yourself there :p

@Unihedro I'm glad that I'm not the only person that finds the situation absurd =)

"Legacy zip" says it all, really.

@J.Steen Haha, yeah. That really stood out to me.
By the way, this dude is a network administrator.

Does he have a beard?
Is it big and straggly?

Does he administrate a Windows Server?

2:44 PM
@jadarnel27 That's actually what I pinned the person that said that as when I read that comment. You may or may not understand how many facepalms per day I direct at IT people.

@J.Steen He does, but it is well maintained.

@jadarnel27 Oh, so he uses Windows.

^^^^^^^^

Or even OS X?

2:45 PM
@Unihedro Yeah, he's a Windows guy.

OS X isn't bad.

Oh no.

OS X is my favourite home OS

However, I am surprised to find that WinZip is not just a Windows compression tool anymore.

I also wear flannel and converce.
(No, I don't)

2:46 PM
@jadarnel27 Doesn't change the fact that it still sucks and is only relied upon by n00bz :P

I like Windows 7 as an OS because I at least kind of understand how to do stuff with it. And I can play lots of games on it (although that's less limiting that it was a few years ago).
@Unihedro Haha, well...yeah.

I use tar on occasion... I admit...

I use tar often

... but not as much as my boat-owning friend.

user259867
Every time I use tar, the view count of this question increments.

2:49 PM
@pizza so true :) meeee too

I read MAN pages. >.>

Windows 8 is the best edition of Windows. Plain and simple.

Does this make me a bad person?

@Mooseman kidding or nah?

@Unihedro No, really.

2:50 PM
It's the fastest and most space-effective since XP, at least.

user259867
@J.Steen You're not doing your part to increase SE traffic. Stop reading MAN pages.

@pizza =(
I actually like Windows 10.

@Mooseman I hope you mean 8.1, because 8 was bad.

I'll wait for the bugs to get fixed before I migrate

Ubuntu. fin

2:52 PM
I use Ubuntu for my servers.

MY OWN BREW 4EVER
YOLO

Ubuntu is just a debian clone, right?

@3ventic That was a given ;) (Although I wouldn't call 8.0 bad...)

Oh how I love the <video> tag... i.3v.fi/1428591166.png
@Mooseman bad in comparison to both 8.1 and 7

@rene Not really, no

2:55 PM
@rene Negative

@3ventic IMO: Vista < XP < 7 < 8.0 < 8.1 < ME

It happens to use apt, but otherwise it's unrelated

10, even buggy and unfinished, is better than 8.

Oh, linux distro's differ by the use of apt? ;)
I recall an image from @Braiam (?) that showed all linux distro's over the years?

@rene officially is a derivative/fork
@rene and it's in wikipedia article about distributions
