Room for Squares is the debut studio album by American musician John Mayer. It was released through Aware Records and Columbia Records on June 5, 2001, the album peaked at number 9 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Upon its release, Room for Squares received generally positive reviews from most music critics and earned Mayer a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single "Your Body Is a Wonderland". It remains as his best-selling album to date, with sales of over 4,484,000 copies in the U.S. as of July 2014. == Background == The album's title is a reference to Hank Mobley's No...

So, we have a user that cannot even match Unicode correctly because he’s on Microsoft. I really am getting tired of this nonsense.

Match Unicode?

It looks Microsoft is out of compliance with tr18. Dunno, I can’t test there.

_🔥

Not even Wolfram Alpha has an idea what's that supposed to mean. And normally it's pretty good with finding out those weird glyphs.

It’s U+1F525 FIRE.
If you can’t see it, I suppose it’ll show up as a match box instead

Apparently C# is doing something insanely wrong with matching \b[الإمارات]+\b.

A: match exact arabic word using regular expression

tchristSummary: Based on your comments about wanting to match repetitions of such words, it seems like \b(?:[ لإمارات]+\b\s*) should work for you. These are your matches: ‎ت ‎ر ‎الإمارات ‎ال ‎ر ‎المت ‎ال ‎ل ‎ال ‎ت ‎الت ‎لم ‎م ‎ر ‎ل ‎ت ‎ا ‎ال ‎ر ‎ال ‎ت ‎ال ‎ال ‎ات ‎ال ‎ا ‎إ ‎ا ‎ات ‎ا ‎ال ‎ا ‎ل ‎ل ‎ا...

You would be surprised how many regex systems fail miserably to match something as simple as [🙈🙉🙊]. Those that use UTF-16 internally without separating out logical code points from supposed-to-be-hidden-damn-it internal representations screw this up, because they think each code unit is a single code point, which is wrong. Java is one of those. I would imagine that C# has the same bug, but I don’t know that for sure.

Installed. Now let's try a browser restart

Wny would you use Symbola for combining marks? That is not its purpose.
No one font will ever work for everything.

how else will I get LATIN LETTER G WITH CAT FACE BELOW?
there is a combining seagull...

If your system only shows things that are in just one font, that is broken.

5:33 AM
once the world switches to 100% emoji for communication, you'll only need one font

@yellowantphil This is true.
I certainly never select Symbola. The system just knows to get the glyph from there if the current font is missing it.

who knows, Windows might be able to figure it out
I’ve had a lot of trouble getting Klingon to render in IE though
you’d think it would just be code point → find a font → display it, but it doesn't work

@yellowantphil I would never take that bet.

it used to work, but I got a new version of IE, and now I get boxes, if I remember right
works fine in Firefox
that's with the private use mapping for Klingon

As a temp fix: tpu isn't really needed in such cases. Drupal mods clean up spam accounts regularly (I checked on my flag summary page), and the titles are random enough so they don't do much for Bayesian filter (which isn't operational anyway).
