A: Profile Page Makeover, Part 3: the Prototype returns

nicaelI think age also should be displayed in "Profile" tab:

I don't really care exact age, but it's nice knowing if user is 18 or older or not so I can customize my jokes accordingly.

user259867
Looks like they forgot it. When editing the profile, birthday [used to show age] is under Public Information, implying it will be shown. Since the Profile redesign thread is long and old, I think it's worth opening a separate bug report.

The more I think of insta-close, the less I like it. If OP is indeed clueless, they won't necessarily know if the duplicate solves their problem... because they don't know what their problem is. They have some text copied from somewhere they they're hoping for some form of "help" with, whatever "help" turns out to be.

Agree

user259867
While in the short term, quickly disposing of their questions feels good, later on they will be coming up in search, linked to something that looks vaguely similar but doesn't answer the question.

user259867
> How do I go about proving this? I am very confused as to what the problem is asking

@Woodface Many non-new users have questions closed as dups. If the user doesn't know if it solves their problem , it means they haven't tried it yet! This message is just shown as a banner on the question so they can leave the question, come back in a few days and after they've tried the dup's answer they can decide if it's a dup or not.
So yea, I'd agree if they had to make a decision about it right away, but that's not the case.
