I wrote a quick bot that's running in PPCG chat. It announces every 10 minutes, and then each of the last 5 minutes. :P

A new user on Security.SE asks for a tool. Flagged as off-topic.

Now they found an answer and post it.

The answer is in the LQ queue. I think the user is acting in good faith, so I don't want to flag as spam.

So basically - a self-answer to an off-topic question.

With new users, I prefer to comment, and show them around.

Now we have SoftwareRecs.SE, and perhaps that is what they need.

But, I don't want to send a new user there without a little guidance.

So the dilemma is - I don't want to give the impression that SE can't help at all. But I also don't want to send them to a place where the question may not yet be welcome.
