user259867
And here I was thinking the letter name is "lambda"

user259867
I see it varies, Λάμ(β)δα

You're using it like a proper noun without a determiner as though it were a person. You must be talking about the system — unless it’s achieved sentience and a nice title. Sir System, anyone? It could accompany Dame UI. Seriously, please insert the obligatory articles without which your article is wholly ungrammatical in English. It distracts the reader and detracts from your point. It sounds like it was written for the Bullwinkle Show to be read aloud by Boris or Natasha. — tchrist 19 mins ago

What's the reasoning for not having suggested edits on meta again?

12:06 AM

Q: Why can't I suggest edits on SE meta sites?

NickCRight as I was going to post this as a possible bug, I finally found this post which says that per-site Metas don't have suggested edits by-design because it's "not needed". However, I've been participating a lot over at Skeptics meta where there is a lot still to be figured out in terms of site...

@hichris123 I picked Progs meta because it's Programmers being pressed by SE staff to be more welcoming to such questions. "Recently I've seen notes from Stack Exchange staff about how it would be nice if site would allow for broader, softer kind questions..."

@tchrist Huh, Jon's answer was actually kinda implemented. And yet no change has been made with suggested edits.

Alas.

@gnat It's applicable to more than just one site though. But it doesn't really matter.

Oh man I'm so excited

@JasonC ... about?

I spent the last 2 years annoyed at how brown my apartment was, and I kept avoiding adding other colors because I couldn't think of what looked good with brown. So I just added more brown.

Deliberately?

But today I was feeling saucy so I put something blue in.
And boom! The light bouncing off it made the apartment not brown any more.

@JasonC jadarnel27 would be proud.

12:11 AM
I've finally broken the brown cycle.
It just needed some courage.

That would require red.

@JasonC TRAITOR!

user259867
@JasonC Does it look white and gold to you now?

A little. It cooled off the general tone all around.
I didn't realize how much I've been self-reinforcing the brownness.

@hichris123 FWIW all but one of the feature requests in the examples answer are "hosted" at MSE

12:13 AM
@JasonC GREY IS THE SOLUTION TO ALL BROWN.

Wtf bjb, you're from Ohio. Say grAy like normal people.

Wait, did you finish with ALL the browns before going radical?

Yes. ALL the browns.
I even took a dump in the corner.

Ugh, morning

@JasonC Got those covered? :)

@JasonC Grey is the only correct spelling.

@JasonC Don't be so gray.

@tchrist Every last one, you... testaceous little mink, you.

@tchrist … charcoal?

Red is not brown.

Raisons?
Somebody needs to look at their kindergarten color wheel.

12:17 AM
@JasonC It can be.
> red: Having, or characterized by, the color which appears at the lower
or least refracted end of the visible spectrum, and is familiar in
nature as that of blood, fire, various flowers (as the poppy and rose)
and ripe fruits (whence the frequent similes red as blood, fire, a rose,
cherry, etc.). The precise shades of color to which the name of red is
applied vary from bright scarlet or crimson to reddish yellow or brown
(the latter esp. of the hair of certain animals). The numerous varieties

I am looking at my kindergarten color wheel. It's got fuscescent, right next to ferruginous.

> raisins: The dark purplish-brown color of raisins.

Out of stack space
brown: the dark brownish color of brown.

@JasonC La feuille est morte.
> brown: The proper name of a composite color produced by a mixture of
orange and black (or of red, yellow, and black), and varying greatly in
shade according to the proportion of the constituents, as a red brown,
yellowish brown, dark brown. Brown is the color produced by partial
charring or carbonization of starch or woody fibre, as in toasted bread
or potatoes, peat, lignite, withered leaves, etc.

12:19 AM
Dark purplish-brown.
J’ai raison, tu sais.

Dang.

@JasonC And just what conynger did you fetch that on up out of for us to appreciate?
I was about to spell it coniegrey but I knew you’d correct me.

I just searched google for rabbit poop.

Bet it was full of it.

You bet it was, that rabbit craps a lot. Daaaang.

@gnat Thanks!

I also found a few handy poop identification charts, which I've filed away for future post-apocalyptic reference.

Sounds useful.

A cunningaire or cunnerye is a rabbit-warren.

12:28 AM
Correct.

Trust me, I know a cunnerye when I spy it.

I wouldn't have corrected you, by the way. We've already been over this. I have the vocabulary of the average 3rd grader IIRC. I'm easily intimidated by alternate spellings.
Actually it's got to have been at least a year so maybe I've moved up to 4th grade.

That word has two dozen spelling variants in English alone.
I'm not kidding, either.

This is why we needs strict standards-based human languages.
Like XHTML.

I know. Actually, I had looked up conyger once a long time ago and it was traumatic enough that I still clearly remember looking it up.

Q: Reject an already-approved suggested edit when rolling it back

BoltClock's a UnicornI just had to roll back about a dozen incorrect suggested edits that were approved, because all they did was litter backticks all over random words and phrases and calling it improved formatting. This is just one of the less exciting cleanup tasks I've taken it upon myself to do, as these edits ...

In case you missed it, go ahead and upvote... not that it will do any good though, team appear to just ignore this.
Even "no, we won't do it [reason here]" will do, having 100% silence is just sad.

@ShadowWizard Ah yes, I knew it had been asked before... I even upvoted it already.
But thanks anyway. I like the counter-proposal by user Dennis: notifying editors of rollbacks, and a review suspension for approvers if too many of their approvals are rolled back.
Voted that one up!

9:03 AM
@S.L.Barth yeah, harder to implement though. Just rejecting approved edit upon rollback shouldn't be too difficult, code-wise.

[ SmokeDetector ] Manually reported answer: Get print from hp printer using iOS by David Methews on stackoverflow.com

A wat (Thai: วัด wat Lao: ວັດ vad, Khmer: វត្ត wōat) is a monastery-temple in Thailand, Cambodia or Laos. The term is borrowed from pali vatta "which goes on or is customary, i. e. duty, service, custom, function". == Introduction == Strictly speaking a wat is a Buddhist sacred precinct with a vihara (quarters for bhikkhus), a temple, an edifice housing a large image of Buddha and a structure for lessons. The only personalized email I have ever received from SO was from tea pot telling me I would be banned for a week for some internal confusion amongst their own staff. I can't believe that I have only received one personal email for the years of effort I have put in trolling trawling SO. There wasn't even a letter of appreciation, nothing! I feel cheated!
