Gahd, the candidates this election are weak.

Ed Cottrell 12177/219 20 40 9k 2k 63% good WEAK yes ok yes yes popular and reasonable

you kidding? If Madara isn't a perfect candidate, I don't know who is.

poor stats, poor questionnaire, not very mod-likeā€¦

...

> not very mod-like
Uh, try again

Contributing user, sure, but I would not want to give Madara more privs.
> Good evening! Here're my answers.
salutation
> As for the reviewers. We can investigate to see whether their approve:reject ratio is abnormal, and suspend their reviewing abilities.
WTH is this? weak.
> No. I would ask the author to clarify their answer and/or downvote. Deletion is for unsalvageable crap.

12:12 AM

> [what things do you want changed?] None. I firmly believe in organic growth and public discussion.
irrelevant and weak

Perhaps a link here between JS room and your feelings on this candidate, @bjb568?

> Discussion with smart people is something we should encourage.
WTH does this have to do with anything?
@hichris123 I didn't remember this user, but it certainly was not one of the few abusive ones.

It's almost as if bjb is nitpicking at every little detail to try to find things that he can twist to look bad...
3

Look, when I read a questionnaire that describes the moderation philosophy, things better be well thot-out and well explained. If you go into tangential points and ramble on about nothing, I won't vote for you.
Moderators need to communicate well the the community. Madara doesn't do that well.
@Doorknob moderators must be held up to the highest standards as they represent the values of the community
So should they be perfect? Certainly.

12:16 AM
In all honesty, the questionnaire is 99% unhelpful. Almost no one reads it... I didn't. And it only provides you some ideas on what a candidate'll do... not what they actually do.
Oops, I'm not perfect. Better go resign...

It gives you an idea of what they value on the site, how much they understand the site philosophy, and how well they will write meta posts to communicate with the community after being given power.

Dear Shog9: I'm sorry to inform you that I'm not a perfect being. As such, I will resign as mod effective immediately. Yours Truly: Imperfect hichris123

Should we start nitpicking your answers bjb?

@hichris123 You may not be perfect, but you're damn near it. If there's somebody I want moderating something, you would be on the list.
@SantaClaus sure, I may be completely unfit for moderating SO. In fact, I probably am.

... well uh.
Thanks @bjb568. :) Not sure I'm worthy of that, but...

Stack Overflow is a privately held website, the flagship site of the Stack Exchange Network, created in 2008 by Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky. It was created to be a more open alternative to earlier Q&A sites such as Experts-Exchange. The name for the website was chosen by voting in April 2008 by readers of Coding Horror, Atwood's popular programming blog. It features questions and answers on a wide range of topics in computer programming. The website serves as a platform for users to ask and answer questions, and, through membership and active participation, to vote questions and answers up or...
