Q: How can you disable Git integration in Visual Studio 2013 permanently?

Bryan PorterI know that you can disable git integration by using the Tools / Options dialog, but what I've noticed is that this setting doesn't seem to persist across sessions; i.e., as soon as close and reopen the solution, Git integration is enabled again. I'm guessing Visual Studio is seeing the .git fold...

VS is so annoying.

> Then, as Ade Miller says: Restart Visual Studio.
😆

I mean, I want to open my debugger, and it feels it needs to load Git?
Oh, how are you doing @Alexis?

I'm doing well! I've been missing the Tavern and its resident Taverners lately. Except that weird cat with the sunglasses.

@AlexisKing Well, we've... lost a few members.
One no longer has an mSE account.
Although @Cupcake has joined us again. :)

@hichris123 Is that so? How disappointing; it's seemed awfully quiet in here lately. Though I suppose I can't complain, given I more or less dropped off completely for a number of months.

1:52 AM
@AlexisKing Yeah. :/ I've gotten busy too, so I can't really complain either.

I'm getting a-busy too.

@hichris123 I think I fell into group 4 after a little while, especially after I got busier. Now I feel like making a tentative comeback, but I totally don't have time for the moderation stuff. I'll be hanging out almost exclusively in the low-traffic and tags, thank you very much.

Bah, VS still feels the need to load git.

Didn't work. :(

And it's not that smart... I mean, if there's a git repo that you probably don't want to load, it's Chromium's.

@PeterJ physics mods are krazy
don't flag posts, flag the mods

@PeterJ yes, it was

@Unihedron They might think the answer was originally OK, but got altered by observing it

@PeterJ I have seen one post from Animuson that states that posting gibberish is an abuse of site features and as such flaggable. So I assume I flag in the spirit of SE Staff...

@rene OK, might try again next time might just have been fat-fingered. I just double-checked and while I can't see it now I noticed it was deleted and account nuked so not one where someone has posted junk to see if it worked and then gone ahead and written an answer (only had that happen to me once)

@Werner Remember that the SE site is not a normal site, IIRC. So it might be using a different code base, requiring an update and a push to reflect changes in the site count
