I would add that, pre-infusion of approximately 15 ml prior to full extraction can greatly increase the amount of crema produced, as the extraction in the puck itself will be more even than it would be otherwise. You can tell if you aren't getting the most that you could out of the puck by seeing if the center is darker than the edges when you remove it from the filter. — Tim Post ♦ 35 mins ago

@bjb568 that's a very polite way of saying "don't forget to use the name of the asshole you're writing to"
5

@bjb568 "nope" why?

Don't use salutations, it's a waste of everyone's time.

@Doorknob I guess cats don't like scratching circles? But they can scratch a comma, so...

@bjb568 I'm using a salutation right now.

And this isn't a formal business letter in which you try to get your point across succinctly so they don't delete the email for being too long or not care to read the whole thing.

@bjb568 There's this thing called being "courteous." You're not supposed to scold people for saying "hi" to you IRL.

@Doorknob Ugh, consonants.

@bjb568 ... a ping is a sort of salutation. It has your name in it. A salutation could be "bjb568:" or "bjb568,"
@bjb568 Okay, now I'm curious what my longest email was...

@Doorknob I scold them in my mind.

@bjb568 you're generally not supposed to write emails as if they were formal business letters

3:41 AM
@hichris123 The ping is a colon then a number. Eg :2966319. The UI is weird, but so?
@Shog9 Myeah, that's true.

@Shog9 Just as long as you don't use bjb speak, you should be fine...

@bjb568 You missed my point, so...

emails are based on a once-common format for business letters (memos, actually). If you print a raw, plain-text email with the headers, it'll actually look surprisingly similar.

> The most common form of an ellipsis is a row of three periods or full stops (. . .) or a precomposed triple-dot glyph (…).

...you have no idea what I'm even referencing.

@Fundamental just coz it's common don't make it right.
