@Lower But reviewing from mobile is hard! :-P

@LowerClassOverflowian I just wondered why edits are no longer greyed out. Just squeezed my 20 reviews into the last day :)

@Doorknob I don't care! You either review till you run out of reviews or till your fingers start to bleed!

@hichris123 it was rejected before I could get to it :(

Another good thing would be to log their IPs and/or links, and cross-network Community flag all posts that share the IP/link. Maybe require mod approval on this first (otherwise someone linking to jsfiddle may generate a few million flags) — Manishearth Jul 24 '13 at 8:02
1. Wait for implementation
2. Post spam that contains a sneaky link to JSFiddle
3. Wait for moderator to nuke spam
4. NETWORK-WIDE FLAGGAGEDDON

@michaelb958 Why did Community flag every post on SO that had a JSFiddle in it????

@hichris123 Hmmm, that would be one way to find the unaccompanied JSFiddle links...

Question: How do you find comments to upvote? Answer: data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/174135/…

Hand that query over to Lance. That will keep him occupied for a while.

9:20 AM
There must be something wrong with that query though, since it only returns 134 comments

@LowerClassOverflowian why wrong? Not many people use this in comments and many times they are flagged and deleted quickly enough.

@ShadowWizard I just thought there would be more. But yea, I understand now
How come when I flag one of those comments as "not constructive" , it like automatically deletes it?
I only have like 5600 rep
And I check my flags in my profile, and it says "helpful" right away

@LowerClassOverflowian they have list of "special words" that if present in a comment, single flag will delete it.
"accept" is also one of them by the way

I see. That's what I guessed. But I was really hoping I somehow gained moderator privileges

@Bart not sure that "as soon" fits, see this one for example. But yeah, no doubt deleting downvoted posts push you further down the hole.

Nah, was more referring to what I assume this particular user's behaviour is @ShadowWizard. Not necessarily to what factors into a ban.

Oh, I see. So that's correct. :)
If a question with pending edit is deleted, can the edit still be reviewed?
I already reviewed so can't really tell

Answer, yes.

Hmm... I can see the suggested edit with a low rep account so it means deleted posts can be seen by <10k users if they had suggested edits on them. Security breech?

@LowerClassOverflowian I shared the link to cake with my fellow programmers in company and so did they and now all the coders I can see in my company are scrolling through answers and smiling. God, sometimes, SO can be really addictive.
P.S. this is small company and everyone is bachelor.

10:55 AM
Yea, lots of funny answers/comments on there, and creativity.

and now we have started discussing answers with each others

@VishwasSharma anyone there is getting married soon?

This one's pretty good. "Be careful when trying to cast a girlfriend as a wife. There are several interfaces supported by iGirlFriend that aren't supported by iWife."

@ShadowWizard nope, just some bachelor dreams are being discussed right now on skype group.

@Bart That's even more terrible. Firstly, you spelled Star Trek wrong; secondly, the reference is from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, moron.

@michaelb958 I gave Bart enough respect to think he did it on purpose thus didn't reply when noticing that :D

Q: Why should 10k rep users view self-deleted answers?

eed3si9nWhen you reach 10k rep, you get to see other users deleted answers. Someone is flagging programming questions on Meta as "low quality". If this someone happen to read the chat, can you please stop? Thanks.

I flagged a post two days ago, with a custom flag, with saying "the user (link to profile) who edited this post, is doing too many "too minor" edits." The flag is still active.
Although I have some two months flags which are still active
but, in this case I just wanted to know, does anyone know, just how long it'll take to resolve this flag?
because until the flag is resolved, the user will continue to do minor edits.

@VishwasSharma The mod that got your flag must of clicked "skip"

does it mean that flag was just unhelpful?
or the mod didn't wanted to review that flag?

11:24 AM
@VishwasSharma I was just kidding. I have no clue. But maybe its a possibility.

Moderator is not obliged to handle any flag he see, he can choose to "pass" as far as I know.

oh! ok
I can post the link to the profile here
If it is ok
so, you people can also check recent editing activity

You can, but don't expect any action any time soon as a result

no, I just want to stop these minor edits, that have nothing to do with increasing productivity of post.

@YiJiang Here's a post that might give you another option or 2 for a situation like this meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/223050/…

@SuhosinPony maybe you know... Does FiM imply that alicorns/pegasi didn't exist from start of time but came to be in a later period?

@VishwasSharma nope. His edits are not great, but not too minor mostly. Too much use of backticks, but all in all he does fix stuff.
Doesn't deserve edit ban, so guess your flag will eventually be declined.

ok, thanks for the review @ShadowWizard. So, only (if I understand "backticks" correctly) doing this in a post is not too minor
meanwhile I was passing time playing this. Don't know, if the game is addictive or I am addictive to games

hi
When should I flag any answer as low quality ?

@ShadowWizard lol I guess today many devs in my company will be going home late because of "cake question" and "2048".

@Williams when it's very low quality
> This answer has severe formatting or content problems. This answer is unlikely to be salvageable through editing, and might need to be removed.
Can't really explain any better than this. :)

content problems ?

What you mean by "problems"?

12:18 PM
any technical errors comes in content problems
> This answer has severe formatting or content problems.

no

then what comes in this ?

Nope, technically wrong answer should just be downvoted and maybe comment to explain what's wrong

content problems is that it tries to answer but it's unreadable
you know there's an answer there, but no way to make it shine

Answer like "gmdkg dfkgjdgi diofgn" fits in "content problems".

12:19 PM
@Braiam that comes in bad formatting

@ShadowWizard nah, that fits naa

@Braiam both NAA and VLQ if you ask me :)

so mod review answers continue which gets downvote ?
to delete them

@Williams what? not following, sorry
"review answers continue which gets downvote" - what you mean by that?
@Braiam actually if it's NAA or VLQ, I think VLQ has priority as it sends the answer to the low quality queue where it can be deleted easily.
Less work for moderators this way

@ShadowWizard Does mod delete the bad answer after downvote

12:23 PM
No

@Williams it's not related to downvotes. When moderator see a flag he can delete the answer if he agrees with the flag.

I can't understand what do you mean by "all old flags" @ShadowWizard because some of my flags are deemed helpful
only 6 are waiting for review

and btw, I think we need to put bounty on your question.

@VishwasSharma "All my flags that were raised before April 2011"
You wasn't a member yet back then :)

yeah, I am still a newbie around here, but I think the reason for active flags is, that long close "vote queue".

I starred your question to see where it takes us, if response is triggered after this chat

@VishwasSharma cheers, hope it will get official response soon. :)
This is a weird bug - different users see different output of same page

12:42 PM
put a tag "feature-request" on it and then see the rush.

when you go here you see the categories?
@VishwasSharma nah, feature requests got much lower priority, chances for getting official response on them is very low

didn't know that. I think you know better than me, which tag to use to get the response triggered.

Actually better use the more proper tag, in my case of old flags appear active it feels more like a bug due to change in their system.

in the meanwhile, back to "2048"

Haha. People are still playing it?

Grammatically incorrect and pointless suggested edit approved.

@devnull I disagree on this one. It looks like a valid edit except the "I using" which is really no big deal.
It fixed more than one grammar mistake and made the question clearer as far as I can see.
We have tons of crappy edits approved, no doubt, but this isn't one of them.

Why do inbox notifications for chat arrive after 10 minute plus delay? If there has to be such a huge delay, disable those for good!

Because they only appear in the inbox when the system decides you didn't notice it in the chat

It was certainly useful. Out of my head I said:
"First of all, what have you tried ? We're not a free code writing service. You should know that after almost 2years on SO. Second, it's certainly possible to match nested structures using perl/pcre/.net regex but you should avoid it for two reasons: 1) most of the times there is a parser that does the job 2) The regex is quite complicated and you should master regex otherwise you wouldn't have asked it. Well useful in my opinion. Maybe I was harsh ?

@devnull you get notifications (chat then inbox) only if @ is being used. 3ventic did not use it thus you got no notification.
@HamZa yes it was harsh, I assume users read the beginning of the comment and flagged without bothering to read the rest.
The "what have you tried" became a major issue at some point and is even black listed now.

@ShadowWizard So what should I say? Here's a full solution ?

@ShadowWizard Right, I wouldn't receive one about that. However, it usually takes several minutes (>10) for one to arrive. Often it happens that I've already read the message in the chat.

Look at the crap we're getting:
@DeVadder the question is very clear, if you know some answer just post it, if you do not know, you should just wait for others professionals to post and you and us learn from them, this is why I am here with other millions to learn from experienced people and get answers not to keep giving advices or criticising. — daliaessam 1 min ago

You have to either click the number in circle to the left of the chat message textbox, or write a new message to "clear" the notification and mark it read

They expect us to give an answer

If you leave it be, the system has no way to know you read the messages, @devnull

I was talking about the lag in the notifications. Is it usual? @ShadowWizard

@devnull yes, 3ventic explained it perfectly already, somewhere above :)

@SPArchaeologist role model ...

@HamZa Cody Gray gave a very good answer:

A: "What have you tried" comments - to flag or not to flag?

Cody GrayI don't know where you got the idea that asking someone what they have tried was a bad thing or somehow discouraged here. It is not. That is a perfectly reasonable question to ask in a comment. The only problem comes when such comments are needlessly rude. But that's true of all comments. Those ...

to sum it up, It's not the "what have you tried" itself but rather the rush of such comments and the harsh attitude that usually follow.

@ShadowWizard Yeah, I know. But I said that, provided the right method to do it and as a bonus provided a start to solve it with regex.
ok, maybe I didn't say please ...

You should really posted two different comments, @HamZa
One asking the OP to give more details, another with the right method to do it etc

Good idea
