nuked it

@Louis thanks for that answer. I was afraid I was alone on that...

9:22 PM
@rene I remember a duplicated of that

@Braiam Oh, that would be cool, on MSE or MSO?

@Braiam That is not a duplicate, that is the effect he sees

@rene I saw the answers and inferred the questions from there, but at least is very related

@Braiam Yes, true, I left the link in a comment

9:33 PM
@rene My pleasure.

@Louis seems you take all the flack now

Today I learned that :header is a jQuery selector.

@rene That's not a game I'm going to play for long.

Today I felt increasingly unsure about what is or is not in scope for the Microsoft "HTML, CSS, and JavaScript" exam.

None of those are Microsoft technologies so the exam would probably ask about VBA and Visual Interdev...

9:48 PM
@Inf +1 to that

Thanks :)

So the bottom-line is that cv-pls is misnamed, and actually means "this needs editing"? And so does delv-pls? If you carefully read my idea, you'd notice that I never suggested getting rid of chat discussions about edits. — Ben Voigt 15 secs ago
... it's about time to just drop this discussion.

@hichris123 Same here ....

Yes, I stopped as well.
Post shows lack of research, so I downvoted :)

I was tempted to respond once more to this but... meh...

9:53 PM
Robert is trying to explain, but OP doesn't listen.

closes tab

@jadarnel27 What else did you do today? Cry about having to take a MS exam? ;)

meh... ™ is a trademark @rene, it should pay royalties
;)

@Braiam sure, how much?

9:55 PM
checks how much is his active loan yeah, not much

Supper time... I might be back later.

@Louis enjoy...

^by the time he returns, his inbox will be full of pings from the cv-pls answer he posted :D
Ohh no, we just closed that tab a few minutes ago...

I think one statement there is incorrect: close votes are not refunded when the question is deleted. Or am I behind the times again?

@Raff delete
:P
@Raff never have, never will.
Actually, they might if it's on the same day...

user259867
10:00 PM
I should have checked transcript more carefully before stepping on the same toe again.

Yes, you are behind the times again, we discussed that post and completed our discussion, then you came and oneboxed it @Raff ;)

Q: Refund close votes for questions deleted on the same day

MichaelTWhen a question is deleted the same vote-day as it was closed, refund the close votes cast on the question. There are three situations where this comes up: Question has a close vote or two, a comment tells the OP that this is off topic (or about issues with the question) and the OP self delete...

user259867
^ Requested, not implemented (yet).

Now go and tell that to the OP on that MSO post.
The post lacks research. I would expect a more informed post from a high rep SO user :/

user259867
Okay, commented. Here's a question that just came up: if someone posts a question, it's put on hold, and they post same thing again, should the new copy be closed as a duplicate or with the same closing reason as the first one?

10:13 PM
@Raff close as dupe
and comment

@rene I prefer not, since the duplicated won't be deleted by roomba

@Braiam That feels not good. The roombo doesn't delete duplicates but normal closed question get deleted?

@rene yes, duplicates are exempt of being sweep by roomba
doesn't matter the target

@Braiam I've done it wrong all the time then... thank God I'm new here...

user259867
CM Laura proposed blocking deletion of questions that are duplicate targets... if this is implemented, deleting double posts will get a lot more fussy.

user259867
10:28 PM
@Braiam Sometimes it's preferable to close as dupe, e.g., when dupehammer can be applied. If the dupe has not received answers prior to closure, it can be downvoted into roomba-deletion in 30 days.

user259867
Ideally, double posts would just be nuked from the orbit by a mod (the second, redundant copy).

user259867
Let roomba treat duplicates by the same OP as any other closed post.

user259867
^ Now the question is, is this FR a duplicate? :p

10:45 PM
<h3>Thanks for answering!</h3>
<p>While answering, make sure to:</p>
<ul>
	<li><strong>Answer the question</strong>: figure out specifically what the asker wants to know and adress that.</li>
	<li><strong>Cite your sources</strong>: linking to reputable sources help readers find what they need easily and backs up your answer with hard facts.</li>
	<li><strong>Explain thuroly</strong>: providing a good explanation can help readers grasp the concept you're writing about – remember that they don't neccisarily know as much information about the technology as you.</li>
^ Feedback?
besides thuroly?
@Raff I think it makes sense for it to be valid to mod-flag as crap and self-dup so they can give a LQ suspension.

user259867
@bjb568 *address ... *helps readers ... what are "hard facts" vs "soft facts" ... *necessarily ... in know as much information about drop the word information ... *opinion ...

11:06 PM
@Raff Maybe I should turn on spellcheck.

11:21 PM
@bjb568 *thoroughly

11:46 PM
@hichris123 NO!

user259867
If you want to stick to your lingo on the site, then it should be thruly, not thuroly.
