gone now
@hichris123 why ?
@hichris123 ?
@Frank :)
@Undo What's so funny?
12:28 AM
@Undo Yeah. I just edited the question again so now they're both nice.
@lostsock I dunno.
12:47 AM
@hichris123 Somehow you are printing HTML entities. Your SmokeDetector isn't linked to your github so I can't see where it's happening
whispers Forum
On the GL site self evaluation, one of the ones I answered got 1 satisfactory and 8 excellent, yet I only get 3 upvotes. Weird.
@Andy spits slightly
@Andy hold on a few minutes... I'm running a pretty old version of Smokey, so that might be it.
@hichris123 That could be. I sort of remember it being an issue at some point, but I don't know when it was fixed
12:54 AM
How is participation sorted as in 'users?tab=participation'
@Frank Hover over the tab name
@CareBear I mean, how do they decide what participation is?
@hichris123 I'm surprised it's that recent.
How old of a version are you running?
@Frank By adding the total number of posts, comments, votes and edits in the past 60 days... this is what the hovertext says. Then sort users by that number.
12:58 AM
@Andy hold on a sec.
@CareBear Ah. That's not what the hover text said for me.
@Andy 7/01/14. "Merge pull request #7"
SO leaders in participation include a few regular Taverners.
@hichris123 That explains why you're printing that way then. :)
Was there a reason for using the older version for your tests?
@Andy That's when I started, and I didn't want to have to rebase. :p
1:01 AM
Ah. Well, it's a reason then :)
Alright, manually fixed.
@CareBear Most noticeably, @Uni.
You should go to bed earlier. — bjb568 16 secs ago
@bjb568 So I saw.
From an unregistered account.
1:12 AM
@bjb568 Looks like it's going well.
noHup. Yup
@bjb568 Uni was the second to commit.
@bjb568 Vas?
@Frank What's a vas?
1:15 AM
@bjb568 but the answer to every question will be use duct tape
Don't you mean… duck tape? :P
@bjb568 'What"
@Frank Oh. I said huh. That means nothing.
@bjb568 I wondered why.
Or, more specifically, "I would like you to know that I think what you said is mildly interesting regardless of how I truly feel."
1:19 AM
Duct tape or duck tape is cloth- or scrim-backed pressure-sensitive tape often coated with polyethylene. There are a variety of constructions using different backings and adhesives. One variation is gaffer tape designed to be cleanly removed, while duct tape is not. Another variation is heat-resistant duct tape useful for sealing heating/ventilation/air-conditioning (HVAC) ducts, produced because standard duct tape fails quickly when used on heating ducts. Duct tape is generally gray or black but also available in other colors. During World War II, Revolite, then a division of Johnson & Johnson...
@bjb568 :) Nice.
@lostsock I know. I was referencing @InfiniteRecursion
@lostsock Yeah, duck tape is decorative and colorful.
And all-natural and organic.
@bjb568 Huh.
1:21 AM
"According to NASA engineer Jerry Woodfill, duct tape had been stowed on board every mission since early in the Gemini days."
thinks about joining area51 to propose ducktape.SE
Coffee is 58% committed. Tim Post is by far the highest rep committer, and then Shadow Wizard. Be interesting if they can ever get enough q/day to make it.
What's wrong with juice? I like juice.
@bjb568 Not... tree juice!?
Oh look, my ★ 7 has 7 stars. Better stay that way.
@Frank No. Cranberry-tangerine.
@bjb568 sigh
@bjb568 YUCK!!
That's disgusting.

@bjb568 Drop dead.
The public services people don't like it when trees drop dead into houses and streets.
@bjb568 You're not a tree, so not a problem.
@Frank Didn't you mean you are dropping dead?
@bjb568 No, I was using the power of suggestion at you.
1:40 AM
@Frank Oh.
@bjb568 .hO
Should the name be red too, not just the dot?
@bjb568 BGG?
@Frank Board Game Geek. Another user.

Bitcoin might have a problem with spam now... five of six pro-tem mods resign, and the number of volunteers to replace them is... zero.
@bjb568 Better idea: if nobody wants to be a diamond on Bitcoin, SE should appoint Smokie, Pham and Zephyr as moderators there.
@CareBear Why do they have twice as any pro-tem mods as GL?
@AndrewT. Spam gone
@Frank Because of the topic, I suppose. More spam, and on this subject, it may be hard to tell the difference between spam and regular low-quality posts.
@CareBear Ah. GL is a clean site.
2:35 AM
Has anybody tried writing a bot that posts on SE to gain rep using an AI algo?
@bjb568 I don't know of any, but it should be doable on Math.SE. Take the integral or limit from the question, plug into Wolfram Alpha, post the output.
Then the user should have gone to Wolfram Alpha instead, not Math.SE :/
@CareBear It might be doable on SO too. Google for code, mash it up, post the code and error with a AI'd problem description. It'd work better than most humans definitely.
Wolfram Alpha == too slow. Takes forever to load.
Night all!
@CareBear @Frank ^_^ I should get to the top, great leagues!

@Pham delete
I know, blame lag cache.
feature request: "repost" should work as a "tp" + "delete" combo
"repost"s shouldn't happen, they're only caused by human error.
Or do you mean if Pham catches/posts something in the LQP HQ as well as the Tavern?
7:09 AM
I mean, if a human posts something before Pham does
In here?
too complicated to implement, not worth it
better focus the effort on Pham's calibration
Anyway, I can just tp a post in the hq.
7:10 AM
I mean, an actual "repost" command. How is that hard to implement?
Why would I want to repost something in here just to have it deleted again?
Low Quality A (100%): just twerk your body baby!!!!!, by lol, on apple.stackexchange.com.
@Sam no... "repost" would mean "this message is a repost. It is spam, but please delete your report anyways"
^^ NAA, or offensive?
7:17 AM
I flagged naa
I guess this command could only work in the hq then (I'm assuming you mean reply to one of Pham's posts to have it "reposted" here).
4 mins ago, by Jan Dvorak
@Sam no... "repost" would mean "this message is a repost. It is spam, but please delete your report anyways"
@Sam I guess so, it should work as an additional command for secondary chatroom where Pham re-announces it.
@Sam He means Pham should use it for calibration and learn it's spam, but delete the report from the Tavern
But when @Pham repost, then it should be interpreted as tp then delete
Ah I see.
I still think it's kinda useless though.
13 mins ago, by Sam
Anyway, I can just tp a post in the hq.
7:24 AM
@Sam secretly agrees with Sam
How do you help those - "I am clueless, non-developer, and I am not familiar with X"?
@hichris123 fp
@vba4all too broad
but it's still a better question than most.
@JanDvorak in VBA/EXCEL I would have to downvote and vote to close 95% of the questions thinking that way...is that the right way? would you say that is a problem?
7:29 AM
@Pham tp
@AndrewT. TP acknowledged.
@vba4all so is the case in most tags
so, yes... if 95% of questions are crap, closevote and downvote 95% of questions

@Sam btw, chat commands only work for those who have been added (including some owner exclusive commands), right? I mean, are there any commands that work for all users?
@AndrewT. Yep, there are 3 tiers of command access: normal users, privileged users and owners. Only >>help and >>info are available to normal users.
(normal users = anyone (except banned users), privileged users = added users only)
Thanks (consider including that info in the wiki too). On the other hand....
Re: repost. At best, it's not the highest priority. However, it might be useful for normal users who don't stay at LQ room.
(just my opinion)
@AndrewT. We'd still need someone in the hq to tpa a report to get it posted in here.
7:47 AM
@Sam True, I think it will be a very rare occurrence that the feature is not that useful actually.
Is this on topic?
